IFC Puerto Vallarta Home Tours
Tuesdays & Wednesdays, starting at 10:30AM

Every Tuesday and Wednesday through April 9, 2014, you’ll travel in comfort on an air-conditioned tour bus while enjoying an entertaining narrative by friendly tour guides who’ll take you on a guided tour of four unique Puerto Vallarta homes, ranging from small, traditional style casas to multi-million dollar beachfront condos and villas. Tours last approximately 3 hours. No tours Christmas or New Year’s week. More information.

Centro Historico ArtWalk
Wednesdays from 6PM to 10PM

Art lovers can explore numerous artistic offerings during the Puerto Vallarta Centro Historico ArtWalk, a self-guided tour of ten downtown galleries with cocktail exhibitions that can be enjoyed every Wednesday evening from 6-10 pm from October 30, 2013 through May 28, 2014.

IFC Vallarta Botanical Gardens and Zoo Tours
Thursdays, starting at 10:00AM

Join us on Thursdays for a day of fun and beauty as the IFC’s friendly and knowledgeable tour volunteers take you on a fascinating tour of both the Puerto Vallarta Zoo and the Botanical Gardens. Travel in comfort in an air-conditioned tour bus along the picturesque South Shore highway with its lovely bay views as we head to our destinations. Tours last approximately 6 hours. Free Malecón Sculpture Walk
Tuesdays, starting at 9:30AM

The highly popular free Malecón Sculpture Walking Tour created and conducted by Galería Pacifico owner Gary Thompson will again be offered every Tuesday this season, beginning November 12, at 9:30 AM in front of the Millennium sculpture next to the Hotel Rosita, at the north end of the Malecón in downtown Puerto Vallarta. Sculptor Mathis Lidice, for the eighth year of this tour, will once again be present to describe his inspiration for this creation. Gary will lead the walking tour along the Malecón, covering about 15 sculptures before ending at Galería Pacifico’s facility, 174 Aldama Street. More information.

1st ‘Ballenarte’ Whale Festival in Puerto Vallarta
Jan. 8 – 13, 2014: The local environmental group, Ecology and Conservation of Whales A.C. (ECOBAC), recently announced that the first Ballenarte Whale Festival will be held January 8-11 in Puerto Vallarta and our beautiful Banderas Bay, which is visited every year by humpback whales and other marine mammals. The objective of this event is to contribute to the protection and conservation of natural resources in Mexico, and especially the humpback whale in Banderas Bay. http://www.whalephoto.org

Rainbow Warrior in Puerto Vallarta
Jan. 11-13, 2014: Greepeace’s Rainbow Warrior ship will be in town. You’ll be able to see the ship, there’s a photo exhibit and open ship. More information.

Festival Sayulita: Film, Tequila, Music and Surf
Jan. 16-18, 2014: The first annual Festival Sayulita is a unique gathering for all lovers of Mexico, film, tequila, food, music and surf to be held January 16-18, 2014. The idyllic coastal town of Sayulita provides a scenic, bohemian background that’s perfect for this international festival.

3rd Annual Taste of La Cruz Expo & Fair
Jan. 18, 2014: Will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 from 3:00 until 8:00 pm at the Malecón and Xiriki Amphitheater of Marina Riviera Nayarit. The yearly expo/fair features area businesses, services and restaurants at the marina in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle.

Campeonato Nacional Charro Vallarta 
Feb. 27 – Mar. 2, 2014: National Championship “Charro Vallarta“, a competition of the best 38 teams in the country, Horsemen (charros) and skirmishes will compete for the 6 first places in two finals, taking a bag of 900,000 pesos in prizes. More information.

PV Carnival Parade 2014
March 4, 2014: That’s right, many people have been asking for the date of Puerto Vallarta’s Carnaval Parade so that they can plan their vacation around it. Well, here’s the date: Tuesday, March 4th, 9pm. We’ll see you there!

Puerto Vallarta International Birding Festival
March 6 – 9, 2014:
 The Banderas Bay Region is home to over 300 species of different birds and will be the site this March 6 through 9 for the Puerto Vallarta International Birding Festival. The Festival is hosted by the Vallarta Bird Conservancy and will kick off on March 6 at the Vallarta Botanical Gardens. Four action packed days of birding and natures walks with expert guides in unique habitats will be sure to satisfy even the most advanced birders, and lectures from local and international authorities on many interesting bird and birding related topics will round out the festival. More information.

1st International Celtic Music Festival of Mexico
March 20 – 22, 2014: The First International Celtic Music Festival of Mexico will take place in Puerto Vallarta during March 20, 21, and 22, 2014. This unique event will gather Celtic musicians and other traditional artists as well as Celtic crafts and art vendors. SDYC’s 32nd Biennial Mexico Race
March 13 – 22, 2014: Throughout San Diego Yacht Club’s 55 year history of conducting races to Mexico, participation has been as ‘enthusiastic’ as 42 boats and as ‘concise’ as 15 boats (1960 and 2006 – aside from the 7 boat roster for the inaugural year). More information.

Mexican Ocean Racing Circuit
March 23 – 29, 2014: The international that began in the 60’s with the San Diego-Acapulco regattas, will return to Puerto Vallarta on March 23 to 29, 2014. Known as one of the most important sailing events in the Pacific Coast, MEXORC, will put sailors from the Pacific coast of United States and Mexico in a race across Mexican waters in six days of races with daily regattas, one long or two short ones. For its 2014 edition, it is expected to welcome approximately 50 sailboats from 34’ to 80’ representing more than 500 visitors and competitors with races taking place in the Bay of Banderas’ Bahia Las Caletas, Marietas Islands and Puerto Vallarta’s Marina.

2nd annual LGBT Vallarta Pride 2014
May 22 – 26, 2014: “Vallarta Pride” is an annual event celebrated the last weekend in May. It was launched in 2013 to celebrate the unique and all-inclusive culture that has flourished in Puerto Vallarta, successfully integrating the rich traditions of the Mexican culture with the varied ideas that have been introduced to the local community from its large expatriate community from all corners of the world including the US and Canada, and as far afield as Asia, Russia and Europe. More information.

May 24th, 2014:

Festival Internacional Latinoamericano de Danza y Tradición (International Latin American Traditional Dance Festival)
September 13-20, 2014.
 Last year’s event was held in Chile, this year it’s this very Mexican Beach destination, Puerto Vallarta, that will sponsor the event. Countries that participate this year include: Chile, Venezuela, Bolivia, Colombia, Brazil, Ecuador and Mexico of course.

3rd International Fishing Tournament in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle
October 15-19, 2014.
 The International Fishing Tournament of La Cruz enters its 3rd year, last year’s event drew in hundreds of national and international participants. This year it features 4.0 million pesos in prizes. Scheduled to be held at the Marina Riviera Nayarit in La Cruz, this event promises some great competition in the sailfish, marlin, dorado and tuna categories. Facecbook.

2014 Vallarta-Nayarit Classic Rock Festival
December 11 – 15, 2014.

Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit hosts a festival devoted to Classic Rock. Cheap Trick + the Fabulous Thunderbirds are some of the big names that’ll be there.

To be held from Dec. 11-15, around the bay, the Vallarta-Nayarit Classic Rock Festival already has 19 acts booked, with more to be announced

Also confirmed: Kansas, Jefferson Starship and Foghat. Others are Gary Wright, the Spencer Davis Group, Poco, Steve Augeri (Journey), Firefall, Mickey Dolenz (the Monkees), Mark Farner (Grand Funk Railroad) and soul legend Sam Moore (Sam & Dave).

For several of the solo acts, an all-star house band will be used. This is comprised of guitarists Jeff “Skunk” Baxter (Steely Dan, the Doobie Brothers), Elliot Easton (the Cars) and Billy Burnette (Fleetwood Mac); bassists Kenny Lee Lewis (Steve Miller Band) Kenny Gradney (Little Feat); session drummer extraordinaire Kenny Aronoff and keyboardist Teddy ‘Zig Zag’ Andreadis (Guns N’ Roses).

2014 International Fireworks Festival
December 20 – 31, 2014.
 These Christmas holidays will be especially exciting this year in Puerto Vallarta thanks to the fireworks festival to be held in town. Both manufacturers and members of the pyrotechnic industry from many different countries will be part of this event. Not only will it include firework displays, but also a variety of cultural events too.

Fireworks will be set of from three points in town, Playa Los Muertos, the Malecon and Peninsula and will last some 20 minutes each.

Surely and event that you can’t miss when in town at the end of this year.
