Re:Qualton
I stayed there for 2 weeks in March 2004. I quite liked it. I have been to PV many times and stayed in many different hotels. I wouldn't say it is the BEST one I have stayed in, but not the worst either. It was clean and confortable - what more do you need? Staff was great and nothing wrong with the...

Fiesta Americana
I have been to PV may times, but this will be my first time staying at the Fiesta Americana. Does anyone have any feedback or photos that they would be willing to share from their vacation at this hotel?
Many thanks.

Re:Qualton Club & Spa
I stayed there last march. I quited liked it, acutally. I have been to several all-inclusives and the only thing I wasn't crazy aout was the fact that most of the buffet dinners were eaten upstairs in a room with no windows; they made up for that, though, by having a few dinners outdoors surrounding...

Re:Airport transfer to La Jolla De Mismaloya
It depends. If you have booked through a tour group that offers and airport transfer service, all you need to know is the name of the tour operator (in Canada, for instance, there is Sunquest, Air Transat, Conquest, and the list goes on). Once you clear customs, you look for the representative from ...

Re:Currency Exchange
Hi Michelle. See my response to your question in my post below yours... I noticed, though, that in this post you inquired about where to cash traveller's cheques. I have always noted that the ariport has very good rates, so you might want to cash one when you get there. The location of your hotel, h...

Re:Currency Exchange rate in PV...
I have never used my debit card in Puerto Vallarta. You will hear many different points of view on this, I am sure, but my personal opinion is that the Debit card isn't a great way to go. What if your card is eaten by the machine? What if you lose it - then you are completely cut off. I have alway b...

Re:Currency Exchange rate in PV...
Thanks. I was hoping that someone could actually quote me some of the rates they had gotten recently. I have been to PV many times and I know that the rates soemtimes vary greatly from the international rates.

Re:Traveling with a cronic illness...
Hi there. I don't travel with any machines of any sort, but I also have a chronic illness and have to travel with enough drugs (including injection) to supply a small country. I have never had a problem. Like you, I bring notes from my doctors for everything I am carrying with me and they rarely ask...

Currency Exchange rate in PV...
Hi there. I am leaving in exactly 2 weeks for PV (from Ottawa, Canada) and I am just wondering if anyone who has been there recently has taken note of the Exchange rate for Pesos to the Canadian Dollar at the Banks and the casas de cambio in Puerto Vallarta. I know it varies from day to day but I am...

Thank you for pointing out the post on p.13. I was wondering, though, if anyone has stayed there more recently. Smitty (Feb 10, 2004 02:51 p.m.): Hi Stacey-go back to page 13- there is a question on QC by Bathtub Geoff- dated Aug 14. Bottom right hand corner on this page is the previous page tab.

Somebody MUST have stayed at the Qualton....
I have booked 2 weeks at the Qualton in PV in March. I have been to PV many times before but have never stayed at this particular hotel and I am just wondering how it compares to some of the other places I have stayed. I have heard both negative and positive comments about this place (though I am no...

Re:Getaway hotel
I haven't stayed there in the last 2 years, but I have stayed at this hotel 3 times and have always had a very pleasant experience. It isn't a 5 star, but I think it is certainly worth the four stars it has been given. The staff was always very friendly and helpful and I found there to be plenty for...

Trust me...it IS a nude resort
I already have three of the travel company tour books for this winter season and they state it very clearly. All of them list it as a nude resort. The Blue Bay club (out of town) is now the Sun Club (family resort)and the Sun Getaway/Blue Bay Getaway (in the hotel zone)is now the Lifestyles Getaway....

Re:BBG has gone nude!
BBB stands for Blue Bay Getaway. After the Big storm last year in Peurto Vallarta they turned it in to the Sun Getaway and then as of this year's winter season (it is already out in some of the books) they have changed the name to Lifestyle Getaway and it a clothing optional resort. One building (th...

BBG has gone nude! Where do I go now? Need advice!
I haven't visited this board in quite some time so I'm sure that this is old news to all of you PV regulars, but I just can't believe they actually went through with the transformation of the BBG in to a nudist resort! Where am I supposed to go now? I have been going to PV for 10 years or so, and di...

Re:Help me plz, I'm 17, will they serve to me??
You'll be fine. The Zoo is out of the question though, I even got asked for ID last year. It used to be that if you were young, blonde, and female, you could get in anywhere and get anything in PV. So you can imagine my shock when I was told I couldn't get in to the Zoo because I didn't have my ID o...

They had a great shrimp stir fry last year. And ther IS a swim-up bar (unless they removed it recently). It opened last year. It is in the smaller pool. Have a great time!
