Chico asked where was the billfold...it was apparently not on the OP's person, which is mistake #1. It's not picking on anyone (and nobody has in this thread) to note that if you're letting your guard down to that extent, you are going to be a target. I speak from experience on this. At the same tim...

is air canada worse than america west ?.....that would be impressive. I have flown 4 times with USairways/AW and never so much as a delay, let alone a problem (flying them again this fall). They even took me on a flight without hesitation or question when Alaska cancelled mine and couldn't rebook m...

Vallarta Adventures claims they will allow at 275, but I'd be skeptical.
I know Los Veranos is 250, and they will weigh anyone who looks to be remotely close to that.
It's a safety issue.

I'm with you Ellen. They are the worst carrier I've ever had the displeasure of flying...I'd rather walk to my destination than fly them ever again. Pretty arrogant of an airline that's been bailed out twice by the government after fiscal mismanagement (while their CEO continued to collect a multimi...

If you're not opposed to a little culture and a lot of music, try Austin, Texas. Yes, not a beach destination but such a great city. Can't wait to try it again!
My other favourite repeat US city - Chicago.

Since we're not prohibited from traveling there, how about Cuba? Haven't been (yet) myself but have several friends/family who have who say it's a really great destination for beach lovers. I have a friend in Toronto who recently told me as well that packages to Cuba don't always have the single sup...

Because it bears repeating in this scenario. The only issue I have is when somebody stays at a 3 star AI resort then trashes it because it isn't a 5 star.

Landbankers International Update
For everyone following the Landbankers International scams, here is some updated information including another company name change to be aware of (Sierra Madre MX). Bayside, you have the distinct aura of a troll. Google it if you are unaware of the definition. As for not knowing anything about Vallarta, the "12" or so posters you are referring to blindly have a combined knowledge of over a century of visits to Vallarta - between only two of us I know for certai...

(and that's no slight to any lady here who visits after 1 a.m. - just saying the drinks get stronger after midnight for a reason, in case you didn't notice LOL)

We are not budget people, we expect good food and a nice bed when we stay at a Resort. The only reason we were willing to try the Holiday Inn is because my husband had all those points with his Gold Crown Priority Club. If you aren't budget people then why did you choose a budget all inclusive to s...

Sushi
Haven't eaten sushi on the south side. Have gone to Wasabi in the marina though, and it's definitely worth a visit.
Very nondescript location but the sushi was excellent. Prices reasonable too.

It has nothing to do with embracing the culture, and everything to do with the fact that some people are not comfortable with very large crowds. While I'm perfectly capable of handling myself in one should the need arise, if I choose to avoid it altogether I don't think there is anything wrong with ...

Can you get accurate crime stats in Mexico? Sure - just buy the local constabulary a bottle, I'm sure they'll whip them right up for you. droyce, your stories just brought a tear to my eye. This is the reason PV captures my heart. Safety
Yes, please try to remember that news media NOTB (north of the border) have a tendency to "dramatize" the relatively few incidents per year that happen to tourists in Mexico, and most of them rarely if ever mention that the bulk of the issues occur in border towns or places where drug cartels have e...

Oy Vey
I don't think it's just "those who live there" who need to pay attention during these times, that's a bit of a myopic statement. Ladrones are common over Christmas and Easter when there is a larger influx of tourists, both national AND international. They follow the crowds...holiday seasons aren't a...
