Shopping?
Morning all, 5 more sleeps until the kids and I head out for our first trip to Puerto Vallarta. My bag has been packed for well over a week! I've pretty much asked every question possible on here except for SHOPPING! We are staying at the Riu and will be heading into town a few times. I would like t...

I just posted above asking for info about where these timeshare people are located. Thanks for posting this. Just to clarify....after I clear the red light/green light area that is where they are located. My tour operator will be located beyond that gauntlet? I assume I get my baggage before I head ...

Wow....I have heard of them but didn't realize they are that bad. Can anyone run me through the procedure at the airport. I am travelling on my own with my kids and don't want to get sucked into this......I would imagine feeling quite confused of this were to happen to me. Someone yelling at me or a...

Thank you Mike!!! Yes, my boys are big eaters. They are 16 and 13. My oldest is 6'2" and the youngest has bigger feet than he does! They are both slender and I am not really sure where they pack it all but they cost me a fortune in groceries! My oldest holds his hands above his head and shakes them ...

Thank you so much JW for taking the time to reply. I am much more confident and relaxed after reading what is posted here and on other threads. Everyone has been extremely helpful. We will take your suggestion and walk to Bucerias. Any suggestions as to where to eat? I think my boys are looking forw...

Thanks for the suggestions! What I meant by Canadianized is that I am sure our Mexican food at home pales in comparison to all the flavours of authentic Mexican food and the kids are excited about eating a much of it as possible! They are teenagers and both really enjoy Mexican food. I am looking fo...

I just re-read my reaction to the original post and completely understand the replies. I wish I had worded my response differently. I absolutely want my kids to enjoy the Mexican culture and interact with the Nationals. Otherwise I would have gone to Hawaii or Disney. The food & safety are my main i...

Newbie to Mexico and need help!
I am a little overwhelmed at the moment. I am headed to PVR in 4 weeks with my 2 sons, 16 & 13. I have never been to Mexico. We are staying at the Riu Jalisco but I want to travel outside the resort for some meals and to give the boys a taste of the country. I have no idea where to go and because I ...

To say I am FREAKING OUT is an understatement..... I am going to the Riu Jalisco with my 2 sons in less than 4 weeks by myself. This review and the one below about the Nationals doesn't make me very happy. And like you said, its not about the fact that they are nationals its the behaviour. I wanted ...
