Renting a car

Post by pauline » Mon Apr 16, 2001 10:04 pm

Is it safe to venture out into the countryside, not speaking spanish?
Would like to see outside of P.V.
Or could anyone suggest organised day/overnight trips.
Thanks

Alain

Hi Pauline,
i can't suggest u to rent a car in PV...a bit expensive (+89$US per day)but i can suggest u to find a good guide...my last experience was with a waiter at our hotel...he brings us in a lot of places around that city (the all day cost us 50$can)... and we had comments from him.. and a great day too. Or try to find a cabdriver, they 'officially' charge 140$ pesos/hour.... u can negociate that for 90-100 pesos/hour..
have a nice stay in PV

We've taken the buses as far north as Rincon de Guayabitos and as far south as Boca de Tomatlan. They're
very inexpensive and there's nothing like a local bus ride to immerse in the culture. I'd hire a cab with a driver who
speaks some English before I'd rent a car.
