I am leaving for PV tonight. We are staying at La Jolla Mismaloya. Is this a nice place...any suggestions what to do? Etc.

Thanks.

Very nice resort just south of PV proper. Heard lots of great things about it.

Things to do? Relax, eat, drink, enjoy.
But take the bus into PV proper every now and then and just walk around.....so many shops, restaurants, galleries, clubs, and things to see. Sunday night on the Malecon is a must do. And for the new PV traveler, a day snorkeling cruise with the pirates on the Marigalante is not to be missed.

Enjoy!

Just got back from this resort and had a fantastic time. The beach and pool areas of this resort were beautiful!!! Very lush and tropical. The water at the beach a blue green (not as pretty as Cancun, Cozumel or Playacar on the Caribbean side of Mexico) but very nice for the PV. The property was landscaped to this gardener's delight! Hibiscus and bougainvillea abound. The restaurants associated with the resort were great especially La Iguana Italian, The Sets of the Night of the Iguana and John Houston's are not to be missed for their views!!!! Try the Sets of the Night of the Iguana for breakfast. Great view of Los Arcos. We stayed in a Presidential Suite that was like staying in our own apartment with a fantastic wrap-around terrace with fantastic views of Mismalyoya beach and the the sunsets. (not to mention a great bathroom with bidet and soaking tub) Our friends stayed in the one bedroom with a small kitchen and other friends stayed in the one bedroom with 2 baths! The service here is like most of Mexico, a bit slow for this native New Yorker but VERY friendly and always with a smile!!
Both Chico's Paradise and El Eden (site of the film Predator) were right up the road (if you can call it a road!) in the mountains. All in All I rate this one a 9.1 (on a scale of 1-10) as some of the facility needs refurbishing. I do think it is one of the prettiest locations for a resort sitting in its own private cove with is own private beach (a luxury not many hotels have in Puerto Vallarta).!!!
