Casa Kimberly
Post

Do any of you locals know if the renovations on Casa Kimberly are ongoing? On the "homes tour" one of the guides said work had stopped for some reason in Feb. We had heard that it had been purchased by Mrs. Chatterton for a B&B.

We were in the area in February and walked past Casa Kimberly. Nothing was going on then and there is no way (IMHO) that it could be near completion by now. Lots to do.

Is that Elizabeth Taylor's house? if so I think I read somewhere it was torn down to make way for condos recently.

It is supposed to be a high end hotel & spa. All work stopped last year around April. The old Casa Kimberly has been torn down. All that remains is the bridge.

Geez, that's too bad. Whether people were a fan of Liz's or not, it did have significant historical value to PV. I guess it's easier, and cheaper to build something new, than fix the old.

Just hearing about this. That is indeed a shame. We were fortunate enough to see it when it was open for tours about seven or eight years ago. I'll make sure I don't lose the pictures. It was a great house, simple but elegant.

I know that Janice was planning to run it but I was informed that there were separate investors behind it.
Where did you hear about the common ownership?
