We'll be spending out 10th week in ten years at the Allegro in Nuevo Vallarta. We usually head into Puerto Vallarta one day for shopping and checking out what has changed and then at least one night for dinner and bar hopping. Our daughter and her boy friend are going with us this year and are not sure what they want to do or how much they may or may not want us "old" people around. Maybe we can lose them one night so we can go into town and go crasy and not have to act our age and set a good example.mexibeach wrote: I'll see what I can do; I don't call myself the assassinator for nothing
Where are you staying?
We went the same week last year for $1554 US per couple. This year it's costing $1696 US per couple. Both years flying out of Chicago. This is still the third cheapest price we have had in the 11 years we have gone to PV always the last two weeks of April first two weeks of May. We looked at the DeCameron last years as it was almost $100 less, but stayed with the Allegro in the end. We have noticed that the DeCameron is a lot higher this year. Not sure why that is. When we took our kids the first time in 1995 we paid $199 per kid for airfare and $30 per kid for the hotel. Once they hit 12 or 13 it usually means you have to pay Adult price. All in all I can't complain about the price, in 1990 when we went to St. Maartens we paid ~ $2000 per couple and it wasn't all-inclusive. In 1992 we paid $1800 at Cozumel and again it wasn't all-inclusive. We stopped taking the kids every year more because as they got older it was harder for them to miss a week of school. We took them again in 2004 after they both graduatted school. Now if they go they pay!mexibeach wrote: We will not be far from where you are staying - if I can get my way with prices this year... won't be booking 'til closer to May 3/4/5 for the May 11 departure but the prices this year - $200 more than last We have friends that want to come and based on last years prices, no problemo... pero this year, we're not sure... I really want to book the DeCameron again - such easy access to the bus to get myself north - but that hotel has decided no more kids stay and eat free so not only is the price higher for seat sales this year... now I have to pay more for my daughter.... she used to cost only a portion of the airfare... she's beginning to cost us alot of $$... she's only 8 - I'm thinking that gets worse
