Puerto Vallarta Bridge repairs Open Sunday?

The front page of Vallarta Opina, carried this headline in its Friday edition: El puente listo antes de Navidad. PVPulse.com picked up the story with the headline: Ameca Bridge Set to Re-Open Before Christmas.

The new bridge could be open this Sunday according to engineers I spoke to yesterday. Regardless of who you choose to believe the opening appears to be very soon. Photos and details of the repairs here:

It did not open yesterday (I crossed it at 9pm), but it looks finished and apparently they are only waiting for the Federal authorities to come for the "reopening ceremony"... typical Mexican!

It's not just typical mexican, they do the same thing in the states. Gotta cut the ribbon and make a big show out of it. :D

Yes the bridge is open

I am going to pass that bridge this weekend and want to make sure that we can pass, so did anyone know that the bridge is ready to use or still have something under construct?

Traffic has been passing over the bridge even though part of it was out so getting over to that area will not be an issue. Maybe John will see this and post when the opening actually took place (Mexican Time). Traffic in that area is another issue, even with the bridge open the traffic can be quite congested at certain times of the day.
