Does anyone know why airfare from Atlanta is so expensive. Trying to get my kids here and the airfare is over the top.

Poppy what dates and airlines are you looking at? I have found LA and Houston airfares to be about the same as they were last year.

ATL to PVR is usually outrageous. You just have to look for the fares and sales constantly.

I'm going soon and my ATL-PVR ticket was $432. Not that good but certainly not that bad. Today the same dates and flights are pricing at $1235.

$1235!!!!!

The lowest fares are usually July and August ATL to PVR. Highest of course December to March.

I would set up a daily price alert on Kayak or Trip Advisor (or any number of other sites).

That's what I did. When the fares reached a "comfortable" level, I booked. Since then the fares have shot up, and then come back down (a little).

I have an alert on Bing. Atlanta is an exceptional city. The $400 something sounds great; I'm getting $600 and $700 for Atlanta/PV. Will keep checking, but if someone gets a good fare from Atlanta, feel free to send me a PM. Gracias!

Poppy,
Post the dates you are looking at for fares so if something pops up we know if it fits into your dates.

Can you please tell me which airline you are flying for the $435 fare? I am on a Bing travel alert and nothing is coming in under $650.

Poppy,
Again, give an idea of your dates. It doesn't do any good to find a good airfare if it isn't when you can't/don't want to travel. Middle of June, end of Oct. Give us an idea when to look.
