The 80s is when I first hit Puerto Vallarta for a week vacation! Great pics, exactly as I remember it. I was there in April '10 and I'm already "home sick."

Me too!!! We stayed in a trailer park in Bucerias run by Fred & Mayo. Man...right on the ocean, little restaurant/bar in the middle. Was sooo fun!! PV didn't start till the cobble stone streets. A lot has changed! _________________ Chris

I can't remember where it was but it was somewhere between p.v. and manzanillo where we stayed for $1/night. We rented hammocks on the beach and as long as we ate at the "restaurant" owned by the hammock folks we got the $1/night rate.
Your mention of the trailer park in bucerias spurred this memory.
Anyone ever stay at the hammock place and anyone remember where it was?
I'll try and find it in my notes.

Sorry...never went there but hope to do a bit more south of PV travel this winter. I went into Bucerias last year and even in a couple of years things have changed so much! The stret right off the beach is so nice now! Wow...you could actually ride a bike on there without too much pain! The buildings are all being redone too. I sitll have trouble figuring out exactly where that trailer park was in Bucerias. Somewhere around teh Royal de Cameron I believe. Iwill be back there around Christmas with my family and friends. Back to PV with my girlfriend for another chick holiday in PV. Want to do more exploring.
I was looking through my old pics but they don't really show the city. Mostly just wide open empty beaches. I do have one of Yelapa and there are just a few huts. I was there this winter and I still love it there. Especially since we got there on a day where there were no tours! _________________ Chris

I know it would be a bit of work... but wouldn't it be nice if somebody arranged some sort of thread entirely devoted to old pictures like these.
There are people who have a treasure trove of memories, and then there are people like me who either lost or didn't have the same spirit in photography years ago.... and now wish we had something like this to remember the good times.
Not only of PV I guess... _________________ The Two Rules of Success:
