I-A: Airport area to Marina, includes Bay View Grand, Velas Vallarta, Casa Velas, Marriott, all the way to the Howard Johnson Nautilus.
--Prices--
Car (1 to 3 people): $147 pesos (approx. 13 dollars)
Van (1 to 5 people): $292 pesos (approx. 27 dollars)
Collective: $60 pesos (5.5 dollars per person)
I: Maritime Terminal to Buenaventura Hotel, includes hotels like nh Krystal, Crown Paradise, Sheraton, Premiere.
--Prices--
Car (1 to 3 people): $162 pesos (approx. 15 dollars)
Van (1 to 5 people): $324 pesos (approx. 30 dollars)
Collective: $70 pesos (6.5 dollars per person)
II: Buenaventura Hotel to Dreams, includes hotels like Costa Alegre, San Marina, Hotel Rosita to the south. Includes Villa Varadero to Grand Velas to the north.
--Prices--

Collective: $80 pesos (7.2 dollars per person)
III: Presidente Intercontinental till Barcelo La Jolla de Mismaloya to the south. Includes Riu Jalisco Flamingos Nuevo Vallarta to the north.
--Prices--
Car (1 to 3 people): $255 pesos (approx. 23 dollars)
Van (1 to 5 people): $510 pesos (approx. 48 dollars)

The there are special rates, for example to areas north of that, for example Palladium and Four Seasons the rates are between 600 and 1200 pesos (55 to 106 dollars). Specifically Palladium: car, 600 pesos and van 900 and for Four Seasons, car 900 pesos and van 1200.
Hope this helps, greetings

Experience on March 19.
For 2 people, to Los Tules, approximately in the middle of Zone 1, the driver always asks for $18 - $20, no matter what they tell us before we get in the cab.
Also, the guy with Yellow Cab on his shirt who led us to a cab surprised us with the announcement "I work for tips myself." So brain-dead from the flight I handed him $3. He didn't carry our luggage or anything, just asked for a handout.
In the thread on this subject before the trip, I was firmly of the opinion it seems silly to walk over the bridge the save a couple bucks after spending so much on a vacation. But now I'm not so sure.

May 2007 Taxi Costs
We just returned from PV. At the airport, pass through the first area in the airport (ignoring the first group of locals trying to interest you in time shares) and head for the end of the building where the taxi stands are located.
There you can get either a taxi (comfortable for three people or tight fit for four people). If you have luggage and four people, then I strongly suggest you get a Van (which costs more). A van for our group of four people to Zone II is ($40-45 USD).
I strongly suggest you always ASK the cost to where ever you want to go in PV (before or when you first get in a taxi). The drivers are always pleasant and everyone knew English. We were able to easily get a taxi anywhere in PV by simply walking to a busy street.
We always paid for the trip in Pesos and tipped with US $1 Dollar bills (they seemed to like this). A trip from Nuevo Vallarta to PV centro (the boardwalk area) varied between $15 USD and $25 USD depending on the time of day and number in your group.

What would you suggest for a group of 6 with luggage to take from the airport to the Marina?

Re: Airport Transportaton
Go to the taxi booth after you clear customs and the timeshare shark tank and they will be able to set you up with a van.Kleindawg wrote:What would you suggest for a group of 6 with luggage to take from the airport to the Marina?
PV Transportation
Thanks Lori,
Would you recommend the taxis over companies such as PV Tours or Vallarta Transfers?

Re: PV Transportation
You're welcome. I wouldn't recommend one over the other. The only problem I have found with the transfer companies is they charge person where the taxi is a flat rate for the vechile. So just check what the going rate for the taxi van would be and what those other companies are charging and see which one comes cheaper.Kleindawg wrote:Thanks Lori,

Yep, I'm booked for October 25 to November 22. Then I'll come home to get ready for Christmas and Dave and I will go back together, probably in time for New Years, but we don't have that part booked yet.Contessa wrote:Thanks Ellen... In August from the south side to the airport was 150 pesos. 3 taxis gave me that rate so it appears to be the new going standard from the old town/Conchas Chinas area.
And the price from the airport to the south side has also gone up to 220 pesos since that list was posted.

And from the top of Amapas (well, close to the top) and Hwy 200, it was 150 pesos to the airport.
30 pesos everywhere on the south side, 80 pesos to/from Los Peines pier, 60 pesos from Amapas to Soriana in the hotel zone (I think I got a discount that day), 60 pesos from Parque Cardenas to Mariscos Tinos in Pitillal, 40 pesos from the park to Pipis, and 35 pesos from Burros Bar to Vista Grill (I assume the 5 pesos added in price is because of the big a$$ hill LOL).
Just a few examples.
