My husband and I used to travel to PVR at least once a year but haven't been able to make the trip in a while. We are planning to spend an extended time this year and need to know how to find a good dentist while we're down there. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Don't know if you found a dentist, but here is a top recommendation from one who had extensive work done in Guadalajara in mid June -- me.

Dr. Abraham Waxstein is excellent and reasonable. Speaks excellent English. Educated at both the Uniiversity of Guadalajara wiith graduate work at the University of Houston.

I suggest you take the ejectivo ETN bus to Guadalajara. Very reasonable and a pretty trip but four and a half hours to the new bus station.
