GAP Sees Passenger Traffic Rise in November

Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP), a major airport operator in Mexico and Jamaica, reported a positive trend in passenger traffic for November 2024. Despite facing challenges earlier in the year due to reduced flight capacity caused by engine inspections for some airlines, GAP managed to achieve a 1.8% increase in overall passenger traffic compared to the same month in 2023.

This marks the second consecutive month of growth for GAP in 2024, following a 1.7% increase in February. The positive results can be attributed to the recovery of the aviation industry and increased demand for air travel.

Key airports within the GAP network, including Tijuana, Guadalajara, Los Cabos, and Puerto Vallarta, contributed significantly to the overall growth. Tijuana saw the most substantial increase at 5.3%, followed by Guadalajara with a 5.0% growth. However, the international airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica, experienced a 7.4% decline in passenger traffic.
