Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro has announced a comprehensive $373 million infrastructure plan designed to improve connectivity and mobility in Puerto Vallarta. The ambitious project, dubbed the “2025-2026 Connection Infrastructure Plan,” will focus on road improvements, pedestrian safety, and enhanced access to key transportation hubs.
Key components of the plan include the construction of a two-lane overpass connecting Puerto Vallarta and Bucerías, as well as the addition of dedicated turn lanes and medians to improve traffic flow. The project will also see the reconstruction of a significant stretch of State Highway 544, along with the upgrade of several intersections to accommodate left turns.
To further enhance pedestrian safety, the plan includes the construction of pedestrian bridges at key locations and the creation of pedestrian-friendly zones. Additionally, Grupo IDEAL, the concessionaire responsible for the final stretch of the Guadalajara-Vallarta highway, will invest $200 million in constructing overpasses and access ramps to the federal highway 200. The Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico (GAP) will also contribute $278.3 million to build an overpass connecting Terminal 2 to the federal highway.
