The Mexican Association of Tourism Developers (Amdetur) predicts a 5 to 6 percent growth in the time-share sector in Mexico by 2025. This positive forecast reaffirms Puerto Vallarta’s significant role in this market.
Amdetur’s projection is based on the stability of the Mexican economy and a favorable exchange rate that attracts international travelers, particularly those from the United States. According to Daniel Linares, director general of Amdetur, sales for stays across the country are estimated to total 6.7 billion dollars, which represents an increase of 350 million dollars compared to the previous year.
This year, the association projects the opening of between 15 to 20 new tourist complexes in Mexico, increasing the total to 785. The post-election economic and political stabilization is seen as a vital factor that could contribute to a significant rebound in tourism and time-share purchases in the short term.
