The construction of the new Tepic-Compostela highway in Nayarit is nearing completion, promising to significantly enhance travel and tourism in the region. This 26-kilometer stretch of road will significantly reduce travel time between the state capital and the southern coast, bringing popular destinations like San Blas, Sayulita, and Punta Mita within easier reach.
The new highway will offer motorists a scenic route through Nayarit’s picturesque countryside, connecting travelers to San Blas, renowned for its historical landmarks; Sayulita, a renowned surfing destination; and Punta Mita, known for its luxurious resorts and pristine beaches.
Beyond improving local travel, this crucial infrastructure project is expected to attract a significant influx of tourists from across Mexico to Puerto Vallarta and the broader northern Jalisco region. Similar to the impact of the Guadalajara highway, the new Tepic-Compostela route will facilitate easier travel for visitors from northern states like Sinaloa, Durango, and Zacatecas, who often rely on the Mazatlán highway.
