Puerto Vallarta Landmarks Lit in Purple for International Women’s Day

In commemoration of International Women’s Day on March 8th, Puerto Vallarta has illuminated several iconic buildings and public spaces in purple. This initiative, led by the Municipal Institute for Women in Puerto Vallarta (IMM PV), aims to show solidarity with women.

The illuminated landmarks include the Plaza de Armas, the Aquiles Serdán outdoor theater, the Puerto Vallarta welcome sign, and the Los Muertos Pier. These purple illuminations have been visible since March 1st, demonstrating the city’s support for women, with the backing of Mayor Luis Munguía.

Additionally, the Women’s Park has undergone cleaning and lighting enhancements in preparation for the upcoming events. The park’s angel sculpture and the memorial for femicide victims are now bathed in purple light, creating a dignified space for reflection and remembrance.
