Puerto Vallarta is gearing up for a spectacular and massive Día de Muertos celebration, highlighted by the highly anticipated return of the monumental Catrina to the Malecón for the fifth consecutive year. The five-day festival will run from October 30 through November 3, filling the city with color, music, and tradition.
The celebration, confirmed by the Municipal Tourism Director, will feature the official unveiling of the colossal Catrina on October 30. The entire Malecón will be transformed into an art walk with over 40 additional Catrinas and decorative structures, including figures of Catrines, xolo dogs, and mariachis, installed from Hotel Rosita to Los Arcos.
Key events include artistic performances across three main stages (Los Arcos, Los Muertos Pier, and El Faro) and the traditional Día de Muertos Parade on Sunday, November 2. The parade will begin at the 5 de Diciembre cemetery and conclude at Los Muertos Pier.
This vibrant, city-wide effort, which also includes festivities in Marina Vallarta, reinforces Puerto Vallarta’s status as a top destination for experiencing the authentic beauty and joy of the Day of the Dead.
