Puerto Vallarta is set to launch its exciting Christmas Festival, “Mar de Regalos” (Sea of Gifts), which will offer an extensive calendar of free artistic, cultural, and family-friendly activities from December 18 to January 1. This two-week-long celebration will transform the downtown and tourist zones into a vibrant hub of holiday cheer.
The extensive program, shared across official social media channels, includes daily festivities such as the grand Christmas tree lighting, musical concerts, caroling, special holiday cinema screenings, and engaging shows along the Malecón boardwalk. Key venues for the events include the Los Muertos Pier, Los Arcos del Malecón, Parque Hidalgo, and Parque Lázaro Cárdenas, which will host everything from local bands and DJs to folkloric groups.
The festival officially kicks off on Friday, December 18, with the lighting of the Christmas tree at the Los Muertos Pier at 6:00 p.m. This event also marks the start of the Municipal DIF’s important toy collection campaign, encouraging community support. Highlight activities throughout the period include Christmas movie cycles, romantic bolero and saxophone presentations, and nightly rock and traditional Mexican music shows.
The celebration culminates with two signature events: a New Year’s Festival featuring live music and fireworks at the Malecón Lighthouse on December 31, followed by the symbolic “First Sunset” event at Palmares Beach on January 1, welcoming the new year.
