Puerto Vallarta has officially opened a new Inclusion and Diversity Module located within the UNIRSE building. This office was created to provide a safe, welcoming, and free space for the public, with a special focus on supporting the LGBTQI+ community. The project is the result of years of hard work by local activists and organizations who advocated for better access to healthcare and legal protection.
The new center offers several vital services in one location. Visitors can access sexual health resources, including HIV self-testing and information on preventative treatments like PrEP and DoxyPEP. Additionally, the module provides legal guidance to help people navigate the justice system or report cases of discrimination. By working directly with the State Human Rights Commission and the Prosecutor’s Office, the center makes it easier for citizens to get professional help quickly.
This initiative is a partnership between the local government and non-profit groups like CODISE and MOVii. While the office focuses on the diverse community, its services are open to all citizens without discrimination. By opening this space, Puerto Vallarta continues to strengthen its reputation as an inclusive city that prioritizes the health and safety of all its residents.
