Vallarta Botanical Garden Marks World Migratory Bird Day on May 9

Vallarta Botanical Garden will celebrate World Migratory Bird Day on Saturday, May 9, with a full day of birdwatching and environmental education in the Sierra Madre foothills south of Puerto Vallarta.

The garden’s official event page lists the celebration from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with tickets priced at 300 pesos. Activities include a guided bird observation walk from 9:00 to 10:00 am, talks and microscopic feather exploration from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, and a pressed-flower art workshop from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Organizers encourage participants to bring binoculars.

The local angle is especially strong because the Banderas Bay region is an important stopover for many migratory species. For visitors, the event adds a timely nature-focused reason to explore the Vallarta Botanical Gardens, one of the best day trips in Puerto Vallarta’s South Zone. Travelers interested in guided outdoor experiences can also browse Puerto Vallarta tours before planning transportation.

World Migratory Bird Day is observed internationally on May 9 and October 10 in 2026, recognizing that bird migration peaks at different times across the hemisphere.
