Puerto Vallarta has earned 26 nominations in the 2026 Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards, placing the destination among the world’s most celebrated travel spots across categories ranging from best city to beaches, restaurants, hotels, and resorts.
The nominations build on Puerto Vallarta’s momentum from last year, when readers ranked the destination No. 2 Best Small City in the World—the highest-ranked city in Mexico. More than 750,000 readers cast votes in the 2025 cycle, making this one of the few travel awards determined entirely by travelers rather than industry panels.
Out of 26 nominations, the breadth is striking. Playa Los Muertos is recognized in the beach category, while El Dorado, La Palapa, and Le Bistro are nominated among top restaurants. On the lodging side, boutique properties such as Casa Kimberly and Hacienda San Ángel appear alongside major resorts including Casa Velas, Dreams Puerto Vallarta, Garza Blanca Preserve, Hilton Vallarta Riviera, Marriott Puerto Vallarta, Sheraton Buganvilias, and the Westin Resort & Spa.
Public voting is open now and continues through June 30, 2026. Final results will be published in October and featured in the November 2026 print edition.
For travelers, the list doubles as a practical itinerary: visitors can explore the Malecón, relax at Playa Los Muertos, and sample award-nominated dining across the city.
