Nayarit has cemented its status as one of Mexico’s fastest-growing tourism investment destinations after securing more than 2,300 business meetings with domestic and international buyers at the 50th Tianguis Turístico México 2026.
Under the federal Plan México initiative, Mexico is targeting US$42 billion in tourism investment across 773 active projects nationwide by 2030. Nayarit is expected to receive one of the largest shares of this pipeline, alongside Quintana Roo, Jalisco, Baja California Sur, and Guerrero.
“We are beginning a new stage for tourism in Mexico, with investments that not only strengthen the sector but also generate well-being, regional development, and new opportunities for thousands of families,” said Josefina Rodríguez, Mexico’s Minister of Tourism.
Nayarit Tourism Minister Juan Enrique Suarez del Real Tostado and Governor Miguel Angel Navarro Quintero advanced several strategic partnerships during the April event in Acapulco, signing a memorandum with CONCANACO and meeting with RIU Hotels & Resorts. The state also launched a training platform with CENEVAL and a sector collaboration with PROVINO.
Infrastructure is moving in lockstep. Nayarit is moving forward with airport expansion plans and launched a joint accessibility campaign with Volaris. The state earned awards for luxury and wellness tourism, emerging beaches, and a national innovation prize for the coasteering experience at Mirador del Toro.
Looking beyond the beaches, Nayarit is promoting community-based tourism, film tourism through the Mexico Screen forum, and sporting events such as the Riviera Nayarit Half Marathon. For visitors, the investment pipeline means more hotels, better connectivity, and expanded experiences across the region stretching from Nuevo Vallarta to Banderas Bay and beyond.
