Puerto Vallarta Targets More Meetings at IBTM Americas 2026

Puerto Vallarta used IBTM Americas 2026 in Mexico City to court more meetings, conventions and incentive groups for the destination.

Tribuna de la Bahía reported that the Puerto Vallarta delegation attended the 17th edition of IBTM Américas with a commercial team that included Fidetur Puerto Vallarta, the International Convention Center, event organizers, DMCs and specialized local suppliers. The goal is to attract large-format conventions and keep group business moving into future travel cycles.

The official Government of Jalisco report said IBTM Americas 2026 was held August 19 and 20 and brought together more than 555 hosted buyers, more than 420 exhibitors and 4,400 professional visitors, with more than 9,000 business appointments and an estimated business volume of 14 billion dollars for the meetings industry.

Jalisco’s tourism presentation also highlighted connectivity, infrastructure and an events calendar that includes Puerto Vallarta’s HEAT Latin Music Awards from October 31 to November 5 and the International Marlin and Tuna Fishing Tournament from November 11 to 14. For visitors, successful meetings business can support steady demand for hotels and resorts, air service through Puerto Vallarta’s airport, and a fuller local events calendar outside traditional vacation peaks.
