Omni Hotels & Resorts has opened reservations for its first luxury property in Mexico, Omni Pontoque Resort at Punta de Mita, with stays beginning March 2, 2027. The announcement, made September 10, 2026, marks a significant new chapter for Riviera Nayarit’s already impressive luxury hotel scene.
Set on 50 oceanfront acres between Punta de Mita’s mountains and white-sand beaches, Omni Pontoque will feature 202 guest rooms, 28 junior suites, 14 suites with private plunge pools, and two cliff-perched four-bedroom villas. Five dining venues include Tatei, the beachfront signature restaurant focused on fresh Pacific seafood, plus Zuravé for regional Mexican cuisine, and Esmeralda for all-day dining. An 11,105-square-foot spa with 14 treatment rooms, five resort pools, and 1,250 feet of private beach access round out the offerings.
Families and adventure seekers will find a dedicated kids club, guided nature tours, and boat charters to the uninhabited Islas Marietas near Punta de Mita. Mountain trails, ATV routes, and ziplines give guests easy access to the surrounding jungle and coastline. With more than 27,000 square feet of event space — including the oceanfront Tzicuri Pavilion — the resort is also positioned as a destination for weddings and corporate events.

Punta de Mita is about 45 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta’s international airport, making it a natural extension of a Banderas Bay trip. The area is already home to several luxury properties, and Omni Pontoque’s Spring 2027 opening adds a major international brand to the Riviera Nayarit lineup. Visitors to the broader region can also explore nearby Bucerías, with its art walks, seafood restaurants, and relaxed beach village feel.
