Puerto Vallarta Hosts Mexico-Brazil Day of the Dead Concerts Oct. 30-31

Puerto Vallarta will hear Mexico and Brazil in the same Día de Muertos program, when the Vallarta Symphony Orchestra joins the University of Brasília Choir and Poder Coral for two concerts at the end of October.

The first is Thursday, October 30, at 9:00 p.m. at Iglesia María Reina de la Paz, Calle Albatros 270 in Marina Vallarta. The second is Friday, October 31, at 7:00 p.m. at Auditorio Haramara at the Universidad Tecnológica de Bahía de Banderas, Blvd. Nuevo Vallarta 65, in Nuevo Nayarit, north of Bucerías. Organizer ticketing lists the Marina concert until 11:00 p.m. and the Nayarit concert until 9:00 p.m.

Aquiles Morales and Éder Camúzis conduct, with sopranos Gabriela Ramos, Sarah Joy, and Mari Gomes. The program opens with Brazilian choral works by Heitor Villa-Lobos and Camúzis, alongside music by Ola Gjeilo and Michael John Trotta. It then turns to Mexico with Silvestre Revueltas’s Janitzio and Macedonio Alcalá’s Dios nunca muere, plus Dvořák, before orchestra and choirs meet on John Rutter’s Requiem.

Visit Puerto Vallarta highlights the October 30 Marina night. The Instituto de Artes Musicales de Puerto Vallarta events page and its ticket shop confirm both dates. BanderasNews lists general admission at 400 pesos, 350 pesos for INAPAM seniors, and 150 pesos for students, plus a small online service fee. Buy tickets through IAMPV rather than a third-party guess.

If you are already in town for Festival de las Almas, the Marina church is an easy add-on after a day around the docks. Arrive early. Church pews fill, and Friday’s hall is a campus auditorium. BanderasNews says ticket sales help IAMPV’s music classes for children in Puerto Vallarta.
