Puerto Vallarta Camerata Presents Tradición y Presente on Oct. 22

The Camerata of the Puerto Vallarta School Orchestra (OEPV) plays Tradición y Presente: From Baroque to Minimalism on Thursday, October 22, at 8:30 p.m. in the Colegio Niños Héroes Auditorium, in the hotel zone.

Visit Puerto Vallarta puts the hall at 89 Paseo del Marlin Ave. in Las Gaviotas. The program pairs Vivaldi, Telemann, and Albinoni with Philip Glass and Jean Sibelius. General admission is 350 pesos, sold at the OEPV offices at 1320 Mexico Ave. in 5 de Diciembre, near downtown.

Bienestar Vallarta folds the concert into the school’s 15th-anniversary October calendar. The same report says OEPV has reached more than 5,000 people since it began, and that director Humberto Solís is expanding scholarships and sponsorships so more children can stay in the program. The Camerata’s last night in this auditorium was Estampas de México on September 18.

Buy tickets at the OEPV office rather than a random reseller, and confirm the start time when you pick them up. Las Gaviotas sits in the hotel zone north of downtown, so leave extra time if you are coming from Centro. This is a seated indoor program, not a free plaza concert, and the 350-peso ticket is the listed general admission.
