22 cruise ships will arrive in Puerto Vallarta in March

According to the Puerto Vallarta National Port System Administration’s calendar, 22 cruise ships will arrive in Puerto Vallarta in March, along with a ship from the Mexican Navy and opulent yachts (ASIPONA).

Cruise ship arrivals at this tourist hotspot will continue, beginning on Wednesday, January 1, with a double arrival of the Discovery Princess and Disney Wonder, joined by the well-known yacht Attessa. The Royal Princess and the Navigator of the Seas will make a second joint visit on Monday, March 6.

On March 7, the Carnival Panorama will arrive; on March 8, the Discovery Princess and the Celebrity Solstice will make a double arrival; and on March 9, on Thursday, the Norwegian Bliss and the MS Amera will arrive; the latter will spend the night there before departing on March 10.

The Zapotec Ship, which had previously reached this port in 2020, will arrive here on March 13. The same Navy that built this ship for the Mexican Navy, which was established on June 1, 1986, built it in the 1980s. It is noteworthy that this ship has twice received the Mexican Navy’s Honorable Mention decoration, which is given to individuals or groups who exhibit behavior that is commendable. Moreover, the Navy sent one of these ships to assist in the 2007 Peru earthquake.

The final three double arrivals will occur on March 14, 15, and 29, and the month will close with the Zaandam. It’s crucial to note that 30 cruise ships arrived in January of this year, surpassing the numbers for 2022 and delivering over 90,000 guests to this tourist area.

The port hosted more than 450 thousand cruise passengers on 186 ships in 2022, compared to just over 108 thousand passengers in 2021, the year that the industry was restored following the cancellation of arrivals due to the COVID-19 epidemic.
