You joined the forum just to tell us that?

Had you read the posts you'd see though, that the majority of people who frequent these NOTB (north of the border) franchises in PV are Mexicans. I've witnessed that first hand on more than one occasion.

no i actually did not join just to reply to the strabucks diatribe. i just thought it would be nice to observe the obvious. sorry if i offended someone. i've been traveling to pv since 1985 and it just makes me a little sad to see the true mexico be invaded by americans conspicuous consumptions i:e outback, chilli's, starbucks, sams club, walmart etc. but i love pv and will continue to go......just keep going farther south that's all

If you imagine that if you keep heading south you won't find these franchises, I suspect you're dreaming...these franchises are being brought into Mexico BY Mexicans, who want them. Unless you avoid cities or towns that have little or no tourist interaction both by US/Cdn tourist and traveling Mexican nationals, chances are better than good you will eventually see these types of franchises pop up everywhere.

If you go to Guadalajara, which is considered probably the most Mexican of all cities in the country, you have been able to go to many different US originated franchises for many years now.

These aren't cropping up because the visitors want them. They are being brought in by Mexicans, for Mexicans. And you are going to find them EVERYwhere.

Free trade + an emerging nation = a developing middle class who is also developing a taste for such things.

I'm not offended by your post, but it's important to be realistic in one's thinking, and realize that Mexican people are probably just as interested in consumer products and goods from the US and Canada as we are in Mexican goods and products. Two way street here. :)

I know when I go by the fast foods places ( BK, McD, KFC, etc.) in PV, there are far more nationals than gringos ordering, as stated several time in this thread, these places are opening for the Mexicans not the gringos.

And gawd, I have only been to an Outback in the states once, I find it hard to believe that even a first time cook could not grill up a better steak at home, so I am surely not going to one in Mx.
