I am planning on buy a couple of bottles of Anejo Tequila while in PV this December. Anyone have any favorites?

My favorite, by far, is Tres Generaciones.

Not sure of the spelling...Agevera? Its considered a dessert tequila and oh so yummy when chilled.

Can't drink Tequila unless it is in a Margaritta, having it straight makes me choke, BUT, I can sip on Almond Tequila over ice, yum. Don't understand the difference.

My favourite sippers are Don Julio Reposado (I actually prefer it to the anejo for price and quality), Gran Centenario anejo, El Patron, and Cazadores.

Of those 3, DJ is my all time fave. Incredibly smooth, wonderful taste.

I'll put my vote in for the Gran Centenario, either the Reposada (for mixed drinks) or the Anejo (straight up).

Went on a tour of sauza plant in Tequilla last year. They provided free tres generaciones at the end of tour.I've been drinking it since. Sipping only, too expensive for margaritas .

Why d'you say sipping? Drink freely, sipping is for sissies ;-) Anyway, I admit Sauza Tres Generaciones and Don Julio are great for drinking straight, would be a crime to mix them up with anything. Other tequila's I've enjoyed are 7 Leguas and Viuda de Romero. I really enjoyed 0.720 (www.tequila0720.com) when it was readily available... have one here at the office, but we don't drink much here :-) (yeah sure!...)

Greetings

Mogens

Herradura Antiguo Reposado - very "restful", but have found excellent for sipping or slamming - like Mogens does!
And Herradura Añejo is even better for straight up, aged two years in Kentucky oak barrels and estate bottled in Jalisco! (Not shipped in huge tanker trucks to US for bottleing like many are etc.) But there's always Sammy Hagars' Cabo Wabo! His website is interesting.

It is blue in color and has a citrus taste. It is very close to another tequila which was my favorite at one time..but I am sorry I can't remember the name of that one.

tres generaciones anejo, like all good tequillas are meant to be sipped just as you would a fine cognac.reposados can be drunk freely and the blancos need salt and limes to be followed by a large bowl of menudo the next morning.

I ended up with a bottle of Mi Tierra Anejo which I h ave been enjoying a lot. Nice Lady at super LaPlaya recommeded it. There were so many choice and she point me to Tres Generaciones or Mi Tierra. Almost ashamed to admit I picked the Mi Tierra because of the bottle. Glass is shaped like a cut aguave plant. Really cool looking. I heard a rumor that DJ anejo was available at Sam's club for $30 a 750ml bottle but alas I do not have a Sam's card. Maybe next time I'm in PV I can find someone to pick a couple up for me.

You can get a free day pass at Sam's at the side counter and then buy what you want. The Liq.
