URGENT question(s) on FM3 activation

Post by cauny » Tue Nov 11, 2008 9:21 pm

Hello all...

We're moving to Bucerias. Household goods being picked up this week.

We'd like to aoid a separate trip to PV only to activate our FM3s (received last week from consulate in Miami and 30 days clock now running).

A professional friend in PV has suggested we FedEx the FM3s and passports to her...she claims the ability to get them activated...she'll then FedEx the activated FM3s and passports back to us. Our next trip to PV would then be when the household goods arrive (some 6 weeks or so from now).

My question: Has anyone on the board PERSONALLY activated FM3s in this fashion?

If so, are there "risks" involved...we do NOT wish to see the FM3s confiscated.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Third parties regularly handle FM3 applications so your risk is minimal.

Beachbum ...

Who are you using to transport your goods? Please post back after the household goods arrive to let us know your experience with this company.
