Sounds interesting. I have been to all these beaches by boat but never knew there was a hike. Is there a link you can give which provides us with more information?If you do the hike from Boca to Las Animas you'll find beautiful areas and private coves. There are 2 large beaches just before Las Animas proper that are too die for. Along the way you'll pass through peoples' homes and they may offer you beer or water and a chat or three. Very friendly and helpful. From Las Animas you can hire a boat to go to Yelapa or back to Boca- we found one for only 30 pesos- as were too tired to do the hike back.
to do the hike comfortably you need to have some kind of physical fitness. while not being too taxing it does provide some spots where you need to climb, jump down, or scramble a bit. good shoes/sandals with grip would also be a good idea as well as a first aid kit of some kind (just in case).
i'd love to hear about it if you go. it is one of our highlights each time we go to pv.

In buying the tix, asking the times, and asking about the services and directions once you get there, it helps to know at least some phrase-book Spanish. That holds true for any independent exploration, even the back streets of PV.

So does anyone have a suggestion as to where a good place to go? I would very much like to do this. While taking tours and things of that nature are fun and all sometimes I like to be at my own pace, take lots of photos, and enjoy the scenery on our own.
We are leaving on Friday, April 13th.
