Automated migratory filters could be implemented in Puerto Vallarta

It is believed that the electronic migratory filters (E-Gates) at the Cancun airport could be expanded to other parts of the country, with Puerto Vallarta being one of the chosen locations after the National Migration Institute (INM) commissioner, Francisco Garduo Yáez, examined their functionality.
Jalisco’s Puerto Vallarta on January 20, 2023 Francisco Garduo Yáez, the director of the National Migration Institute (INM), was at Cancun’s international airport today to examine the performance and operation of the automated migratory filters (E-Gates).

By scanning their passports, following the instructions on the screen, and collecting the generated ticket, passengers on international flights can complete the necessary immigration processes to enter the country in just a few seconds.

The Cancun International Airport has 18 of these devices, while Mexico City has 12. However, considering the effectiveness and efficiency of the E-Gates, it is very likely that they will be extended to other areas of the Mexican territory.

Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara, two of the cities with the highest international passenger traffic in the nation, are among the potential locations for the new electronic migratory filters.

It should be noted, however, that the E-Gates only currently function for those with U.S., Canadian, and Mexican passports.
