SICT has put into operation the second section of the Las Varas-Puerto Vallarta highway

The Mexican Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation has put into operation the La Florida-Entronque La Cruz de Huanacaxtle Junction section of the new La Varas-Puerto Vallarta Highway, which will allow travelers to save 40 minutes on their trip. Additionally, two other sections totaling 54.4 kilometers are in operation, allowing users to save 55 minutes on their trip. Furthermore, a third section of 86.5 kilometers is under construction and will save between 60 and 80 minutes in travel time, generate 1,500 direct jobs, and 4,000 indirect jobs.

The highway will have 45 bridges, 7 junctions, 3 tunnels and 3 viaducts, and will offer multiple advantages for travelers. It will reduce travel time from Guadalajara to Puerto Vallarta from 4 hours and 30 minutes to 2 hours and 30 minutes, as well as reduce the travel time from Tepic to Puerto Vallarta from 3 hours and 20 minutes to 1 hour and 40 minutes, and will also connect two international airports.

Additionally, the 23.6 kilometer Capomo-La Florida route came into operation, connecting Las Varas with Entronque 692 and Entronque Florida, reducing travel time by 15 minutes, and the 32.2 kilometer San Vicente Junction-Puerto Vallarta International Airport route will reduce travel time by 25 minutes.
