Booking Flights on line – timing
The next article in the series focuses on the effect of timing. We find that advance booking of 45 to 60 days is preferred for travel in peek periods. We also see price reductions that would suggest that you do not want to book too early especially when you have flexibility in the day you travel. A ...

How to get the best flight when booking on line.
Maybe bad timing to follow the emergency landing with another airport article but this one is more useful. I finally got tired of not understanding what I was doing when booking on line flights. This time I spent a couple of days at it. The result will be a series of articles on how to get the best ...

Emergency landing at the aairport yesterday
An emergency landing shortly after noon yesterday closed The PV airport for a few hours delaying flights. A chilling video shows sparks flying and fire trucks spraying the plane as it comes to rest. All passengers and crew exited without injury. Gracias a dios. Details on the Jaltemba Jalapeño: http...

By the way, do not take any decision based on the webcam they installed over the bridge. The webcam is pointing towards the middle of the bridge, which always has moving traffic, the issue is before getting to the bridge, usually 1 to 3 miles of heavy traffic... These Mexicans are very clever! That...

Puerto Vallarta Bridge Repairs
Thanks for the feed back I have incorporated it in the article. Maps explain the communities affected. The current situation is quite tolerable with normal delays being about 45 minutes. Repairs may be completed as early as January 2011. Read the article here: http://jaltembajalapeno.com/lang/en/201...

I am writing an article for the Jaltemba Jalapeño to follow up on the bridge collapse. Does anyone know if there is any progress on the bridge? Even rumours would be helpful. I will check them out.

Driving South from Nogales
As snowbirds start to plan their trip south many of them will be considering the Nogales to Puerto Vallarta route. With all the bad press lately I though it appropriate to get some feedback from people who have driven it recently and people who have driven it many many times. Also included are this ...

Thanks for the suggestion Mate. Clarity is what I was hoping for so I have changed the statement to: New rules for US cash in Mexico now require that not more than USD100 cash be applied to any transaction. For example if you buy something for 2,300 pesos you could pay up to USD100 with greenbacks a...

$100 US Cash Limit
New rules for US cash in Mexico now require a maximum of 100 dollars for any purchase. Some stores have stopped accepting dollars completely. The changes took effect September 15th and they are causing some confusion so I have trolled the web for the latest facts and rumours.

Happy Birthday Mexico.
200 years of Independence is marked today and tomorrow by celebrations throughout the republic. Calderone has declared two additional holidays for federal employees so some businesses will no doubt be closed for the next few days. It is perhaps fitting to remember a bit of Mexican history on this da...
