We stayed in the Portofino Condos in March, we stayed in the one of the penthouses and it was beautiful. All condos have ocean view, a nice pool with snack bar. Beautiful beach area, this is in the Marina so you need to take a bus or taxi to downtown and the Malecon. But a nice walk to the shops in ...

Has anyone stayed at either of these places, I'm looking at staying there for just three nights in the Marina, so was looking for feedback on the two places.

Yes that's the place. Also my cousin is supposed to be staying there in two weeks, but i'm sure she'll find some where else. As for the refund, were not sure yet. Some of the other people on the plane were saying it was all over the net that this place had some sort of virus and to avoid going there...

I was wondering if anyone has been to LJDM lately, i was there about three years ago. Family is leaving Saturday, and i haven't been able to find any recent reviews anywhere. Does anyone know how the beach is now or if they've renovated the rest of the rooms. Thanks in advance.

We've stayed at both the Buganvillias when it was a Sheraton and also the Mayan Palace in Nuevo which is really only 5 minutes from the airport. Both are non ai, Buganvillias is walking distance to town, but very little beach. Mayan Palace is bus or taxi to town, but a very big beautiful beach and p...

We were at the Sheraton before the hurricane, 5 years ago and at that time they really didn't have much for a beach. It was only the length of the hotel, and it drops off quickly, so there was a real undertow. The hotel was beautiful then and even more so now, from what i've heard. Have a great time...

We were at the Mayan Palace in December 2003 for two weeks, loved it, the place is beautiful and so is the beach! I have lots of pictures of the resort if you would like me to send them.

four digit pin numbers
I know its been said many times that you need a four digit pin number for your debit or credit cards to work in Mexico. My question is to take out cash advances on our new credit card the pin is five digits, when we called to tell them you can only use four digits in Mexico, they told us even though...

We paid $638 tax included over last christmas from Vancouver, that was two months in advance. So you may get a better deal looking later on around Sept. or Oct. for flights at Christmas time.

Re:Mayan Palace PV Disco.
We were at the one in Nuevo Vallarta, thats where the theater is being built. You can take a cab for 130 pesos to downtown from NV. To catch the bus you need to first take the shuttle to the Sea Garden, and then get on the bus to downtown.

Re:Gifts for Maids/New Mexican Friends?
We were in PV in December at the Mayan Palace NV, the bartender told us that they all make the same daily wage of 40 Pesos approximately $4 US, they all rely on tips. We took with us small toys that (lego) we left in addition to our tip for the maids, we noticed that for example a Barbie Car at Walm...

Re:ID Verification for Minors
I wasn't sure where your from, but were from British Columbia. One of our sons is a minor and we obtained a BCID, which looks like a drivers license and is just as legal along with his birth certificate was fine. If you don't have time to obtain a form of picture ID, up here the elementary students ...

Did you check out the trip reports? Two people just returned from there, sounds like they had a good time. We were there a couple of years ago and enjoyed it very much, it's beautiful watching the yachts go by on the marina side and also having the beach side.

My husband and two sons went golfing at the Mayan Palace in NV and in the Marina, loved it. Also check with airline, there was no charge for golf clubs, they do tell you to pick them up in PV airport at the fragile area, when we asked where that was the PV employees laughed and said you pick it up a...

Re:Buses vs taxis from Nuevo
Pickle (Feb 02, 2004 04:33 p.m.): Are there posted bus stops/schedules in NV? We'll be staying at the Mayan Palace NV, which I hear is a massive complex and getting to a bus stop may be a journey within itself. You need to first take the shuttle from the Mayan Palace to the Sea Garden, then hop on ...

Re:Which mayan palace do you reccomend
We were just at the Mayan Palace in NV for two weeks in December. The resort is beautiful, the pool and beach are huge. We enjoyed the Greenbreak restaurant on the golf course the most for lunch and dinner. Or you can enjoy the service around the pool or beach for lunch. There are kayaks to use in t...
