PEMEX
I have been to every PEMEX in the city- the sign you saw was NOT for tips but the US $ TIPO DE CAMBIO which translates to "How many pesos per US Dollar" it will usually say $10.00 or right now $10.50. A few weeks ago it was $11.00 When you want to know what the exchange rate is at a shop or at PEMEX...

Gift
I suggest a small token gift from your home area and money.
More than anything, although money seems impersonal, with the low wages, money is far more appreciated than a gift that may not be to their taste. We all scrape by during low season so any extra dinero is the best gift of all

Depends...where you are
There is no shortage of bakeries in Vallarta. In fact one of the best is at Gigante and Mega has a nice bakery as well. Then of course there are tons of little bakeries all over Vallarta, just follow your nose;) Los Chatos is mainly for cakes. If you want sweet rolls and such, the main Farmacia Guad...

Diamante Azul
The only one I would suggest is Diamante Azul on V. Carranza, near Jacarrandas. He is the jeweler that Viva uses for their repairs, etc. I have used him twice and he is excellent. He changed four prongs on my diamond ring for 120 pesos total. The quote for the same work in the States was $25 US per ...

Dual Info
Tom, You can only get Dual Citizenship if you marry a Mexican or have held a valid FM3 for st least 5 years and have at least one year to go through the process to attain the Mexican citizenship. Most do this process in Tepic or in Colima. Also the US wants you to give up US citizenship if you apply...

Re:How late is too late to go to PV?
It is NEVER to late to go to Vallarta! Seriously, every season has something wonderful to offer. I live here year around and I love the summers. I love the heat, the storms, the rain, the cheaper prices, the lack of traffic and no lines:) Actually, we have a lot of tourists from the Southern US in t...

Must DO! Mexi-Mongolian Fun
Up the Rio Cuale is a little colonia called Paso Ancho. In Paso Ancho is a river-side restaurant called La Huerta. Every Sunday they have Mongolian Stir-Fry and Mariachi music. The Mariachi band also has a woman violinist who has an amazing vioce! The music is from 2:30 to 3:30. So get here about 1:...

Re:Language barrier and safety
or sitting under a coconut tree! Vallarta is VERY safe, they do a fantastic job of policing the town, and I give kudos to the local government for keeping the area pretty darn safe. I feel 1000% more safe here than I did living in Minneapolis. I walk around alone at night often, or with my boyfriend...

Re:Dune Buggies
I suggest to help Mogens and book via this site when you are in town, when you know you want to go. I am sure they send via email your vouchers, so have an accessible email. This way you support the site and get the company you want. With almost all tours you need to book at least 24 hours in advance.

Re:Cell Phone Rental in PV
Yes, true. If you search, most phones on EBAY are unlocked. As well, I have had TELCEL reprogram four or five used phones, (not sure if they were unlocked or not, but they were able to get them up and running). There is unlocking software available for some phones. Either way, a cheap cel phone may ...

School supplies can be dropped off at the San Javier Hospital to the Global Ambulance company (right in the front door to the right side) to Pamela. She is a part of a group that adopted a very needy school and she would be thrilled to have any donations for the kids.

If you bring your credit card and do need a cash advance, please remember your pin#! You can go to a bank to get cash from your CC but you MUST know your pin # and the credit card company will not give it to you over the phone. I just had two different clients that had this happen to them and we tri...
