Driving down from the US. Is it safe?
We've been planning a 3 month stay this year and were planning to drive down from Portland, OR. I've been coming to Mexico for 40 years... drove down in my VW bus in 1974. We're hearing lots of negative things and words of caution from our friends and information on the web. I assumed we'd be hassle...

Any recommended Auto Insurance companies (driving down, US)
Well, I tried to search related info on the this topic and came up with nothing. We're driving down in January (probably crossing at Nogales) and was wondering if anyone had an insurance company that they would recommend. So far... I've gotten quotes from: Lewis and Lewis ($417.00) Sanfords ($514.00...

Re: OK...
What does that mean then? That the rules are not valid, that you just have to take a risk, or that the rules are there to be broken?... :-) Mogens The US Customs link that I posted basically says that there are NO Federal law limits to what you can bring back. It's VERY VAGUE... where they use word...

How much Tequila can I take home?
I'm trying to get to the bottom of just how much tequila is allowed in your checked luggage when returning to the states. I googled it and found many old articles stating 1 liter was allowed per person. I know that's wrong because I have brought back more than that before. This time we're bringing b...

Never mind.... I got the car (Brand new Nissan Versa) on Priceline.com for $15.00/day and the Liability Insurance was $14.00/day. Just as I remembered... the insurance is about the same as just renting the car. Still not bad though... to rent a golf cart here in Sayulita is roughly $85/day. Total ri...

Average "Liability" car insurance rate?
Rental cars are pretty cheap down here... but if memory serves me correctly... it's the liability insurance that gets you.
Anyone know what the mandatory liability insurance costs per day? I'll be renting a Nissan Tsuru or similar.
I believe collision is covered by my VISA card.

We are coming down at the end of January for a 3 month stay in Sayulita. We were planning on getting married while there. No one on Sayulita's web site seems to be interested in returning our e-mails about wedding services/ceremonies. Can anyone here recommend someone who would assist and perform ou...

Only weird thing is I can't book any travel after October 14, 2012. They seem to add a few days more every so often... but nothing like Expedia or Orbitz.
Tickets will cost $27 USD One Way.
