On the secluded side?
If you are looking for something somewhat secluded but fun, try Costa Azul Adventure resort costaazul.com in San Pancho which is 3 km north of Sayulita north of Puerto Vallarta. We were enjoying their facilities when there was a wedding party there and everyone was having a great time because it's s...

Many of the San Pancho homes are luxurious but there are some in town (not on beach) which are simple living. If you are looking for an adventure all-inclusive, check out Costa Azul resort. Not what many would consider for an all-inclusive stay. It's more laid back and small and quaint. I've also se...

Enjoy
Wanda, Take advantage of one or two of the Paradise Village Beach Resort nightly themed activities. They are a blast. They might seem expensive but last for hours and usually include all you can eat and drink. Plan on spending time in Puerto Vallarta as it's a beautiful city and offers a different e...

Author iheartMexico knew of someone who worked on the boat back in Nov. of '07; maybe they will know that person. iheartMexico was able to ask this same question for me back then. Someone else noted that they called the Marigalante directly in order to have this question answered. Good luck; it's wo...

Where will you be staying? In Nuevo there are many vans and Suburbans with friendly drivers offering day trips. Haven't ever used one. We stick to the buses for local stuff, even a day trip from Nuevo to Chico's Paradise. We have used Sayulita drivers for taking larger groups back and forth from Say...

Acapulco?
We love PV but might be interested in visiting Acapulco.
Would like to find out if anyone has visited both PV and Acapulco and preferred Acapulco over PV. We'd love some opinions.
Thanks.

Depending on how much time you'd like to snorkel and kayak, the Marigilante (Pirate Ship) has a day time tour which allows for time at a beach for kayaking and snorkeling nearby. It's a nice tour although the pirate daytime show is a little corny. They have good food, serving breakfast and lunch. Ha...

Los Veranos
We've done the Los Veranos canopy tour twice and loved it both times. You could always hire a driver but the price includes being picked up by a bus at several locations including Nuevo Vallarta as well as within Puerto Vallarta. Both times we did Los Veranos the homebound bus dropped everyone off a...

We enjoyed Claudio's at Mason Bay in Bucerias. Great food, on the beach and we entertained ourselves by starting a conga line and the kitchen staff came out to help with a limbo competition.
Have a great time.

San Pancho
San Pancho is a wonderful little town. If you're looking for lots to do, it's not the place to go. If you'd like to enjoy the quiet, peaceful lifestyle of a Mexican town, it's a great place to go. The town itself is typical with some tourist type shops. The beach is big, beautiful and clean. The oce...

Mazatlan is a little dryer than PV and therefore not quite as green. It's a little warmer too. If you are looking for solitude, even from beach vendors, try Estrella del Mar on Isla de la Piedra (not really an island). It's 10 minutes from the airport on a beautiful, long and secluded beach. Take a ...

Where are you planning on crossing the border? You're probably aware that you'll need to buy Mexican insurance and purchasing it for a year will be cheaper than just for 3 months. One site says "...contact the Mexico Government Tourist Organization (MGTO) at telephone 1-800-44-MEXICO (639-426). Trav...

We've driven Phx to Mazatlan in two days (refused to drive at night) stopping at San Carlos for the night at Best Western Hacienda Tetakawi. We found Sonorans to be rough people and caution must be taken when stopping anywhere along the way. Can't tell you how many times we ran across drug deals tak...

boogie boards
Every time we've visited we have brought our boogie boards with us. Now, the new MEGA in Bucerias has the good, long lasting boogie boards (at least for the time being) although with a cost of around $45 US. Wal-Mart had previously carried the cheap foam boards. I don't know if they still have only ...
