Hi Clair. My family and I stayed in Nuevo Vallarta last September and had a great time. Couple of excursion suggestions, you really must go swim with the Dolphins - what a neat experience. Also, we went on a "tequila tour" in Pitillal (not sure of spelling) which is a small town between NV and PV. N...

Re: working?!?!?!
Ginger, What the heck are you doing trying to work in such a wonderful place? I try to forget all the stresses of home and PV is the perfect place. I noticed you are from the high desert in California. We live pretty close to each other. Maybe we can get together in PV some day and toast the wonder...

:( We were in Nuevo Vallarta end of September. No cell service whatsoever. We have both Verizon and another service out of Arizona (I think it's called Freedom). Had planned on continuing with work while there, but with no cell service and unable to send or receive attachments to email (the concierg...

Good and cheap tacos, but out of the way
:? Another place to try that is out of the way (in Nuevo Vallarta) but was good. We ate at Napalitos in the Paradise Village Mall (2nd floor). Place overlooks the mall shopping area, so if you're into people watching that's a plus. $5.00 US for 3 shrimp tacos with rice and beans, $4.50 for 3 fish ta...

Re: Weather?
I'm going to PV Oct. 20-25. I've noticed that the weather shows it raining every day. Is it actually raining and how long is it raining for. Any help would be appreciated. :D :D I was just there (9/24-10/1) and the weather on my internet site showed the same. Thunderstorms every day. What we actual...

Hope I'm Not too late
My family and I just got back from Nuevo Vallarta and had a great time. Yes it is a little away from PV, but it has it's own charm!. We enjoyed the quiet and the time together. I know that you are going without your kids. My husband and I went to Cancun 3 years ago by ourselves for our 25th wedding ...

Just a caution about Vallarta Adventures
:) Just a little word of warning. We purchased the DVD of Swim with the Dolphins from Vallarta Adventures, and found upon returning to our hotel, that the dvd was blank. Luckily we found this out before we left, so were able to get it corrected. But we are happy we checked before we left PV. No prob...

Just got back
:D Just got back on Saturday from our first, but definitely not last trip to PV. Had a wonderful time. Weather even cooperated some in that we only had 2 days with rain and that was in the late afternoon. Glad I found these boards before I left. A few notes from our trip. Stayed at Paradise Village ...

Cat (Sep 22, 2005 02:47 p.m.): My husband and I just returned from PV. We were there 9/15-9/19. It did rain every day we were there but only a small amount and usually at night. It did not hinder any of our plans. While we were there all the tours were up and running. We went horseback riding and a...

Re:what is considered to be off season?
Just wanted to correct my previous post. From reading these boards, etc. it appears the "in season" is December and January, so I guess everything else must be off. But I understand from my reading that September is very wet, so alot of places close for renovation etc.

Re:what is considered to be off season?
Welcome Alexander. I will be there at around the same time, leaving Saturday the 24th and returning Oct 1st. We will all be there during the off season. The season is around December through May (I think, from reading these boards). The rest of the time, there is the possibility of thunderstorms, et...

And you're right. Thanks so much, I had forgotten (it's been about 18years since I went to Mazatlan). Need to get some to take next week just in case. Thanks again.El Cuchillo (Sep 21, 2005 11:49 a.m.):

Re:Do You or don't You??
Sure, why not? The only time I ever wished I hadn't is when I stayed in Mazatlan during the rainy season. Seems the cloud cover encourages the baby portugese man-of-war jellyfish to rise to the surface, and I got stung. Hurt, but a little lime juice and some msg seasoning took care of that. Can't re...

Will restaurants be closed and where to eat in Bucerias
Going in 9 sleeps and hoping we won't be left out, if restaurants close during the "off season". Can anyone tell me if this will be a problem? If so, how much of one? Also, I have read about Bucerias, which sounds like a fun day trip. We eat mostly veges and seafood, so any suggestions on where to e...

Re:SICK AFTER RETURNING FROM PV
Just a thought or two. When I lived in Guadalajara, I can remember being taught that the purification systems in Mexico are somewhat different than those in the US. Not that they weren't good, just that they sometimes filtered out things that ours did not and did not filter out things that ours did....

Jennybean (Sep 14, 2005 12:03 p.m.): You can also experience Las Caletas (where the Rythms tour goes) during the day on a very family-friendly tour. Just look up "Las Caletas by Day".
