I am now in my 40's but have been vacationing in PV since I was 18. You will probably meet people at your hotel and can just tag along to nightclubs/bars. I second the advice to check out Andale's and Roxy's. The party gets started pretty late -- like after 11 pm. Before that time, you can walk alon...

My friend was not sure if it is still there!!! She noted that when they are in PV, they have been making their own smoothies at home, with yogurt, bananas, and frozen strawberries (and whatever other fruit you want), and fruit juice. So sorry! They make pretty good smoothies at restaurant Fredy's Tu...

I love Dolce Vita's pizza, but another place that is also good is Cafe Candela, which is across the street from Trio and away from the ocean 1-2 blocks. Cafe Candela is a quaint hideaway, and the menu is only in Spanish! Not many tourists there.........but they have a wood fired oven and interesting...

The link did not work, but I was able to look at the website on my own. This place must be new, and I have never been there. If you like the contemporary, minimalist sort of ambience, then go for it!! The food looks awesome! The tables look a bit small considering that you order lots of plates to sh...

I think if you stroll along the Malecon, and just go into whatever club seems to interest the majority, you will be able to find a place to have fun. I love live bands, and so Roxy, Bebotero, and La Bodeguita del Medio fit my bill. Just depends on what you like..........Mandala and Punto V are newer...

I just got home from PV and pulled pesos out of the ATM's there. No problem. Analyzed the rate when I got home and calculated that I netted 12.2 pesos per USD with this method. That is better than the casa de cambios, and alot easier!! The cambios while I was there varied from 11.5 to 11.7 pesos per...

I am here now!! My daughter is taking her placement test at the Spanish Experience Center, and they offered for me to use this computer while I waited for her to finish. Today is hot and humid, sunny. Over the past few days, we have had a little bit of rain, mostly at night, and some overcast times,...

You might enjoy Nuevo Vallarta or Bucerias area. Very nice beaches and much more quiet than downtown Puerto Vallarta. But.......I would consider the Playa Los Muertos area south of the Rio Cuale in PV fairly "low key" with decent beach with plenty of bars/restaurants, many on the beach. You can find...

Fun to read through your experiences. We enjoy the same sorts of adventures!! Where is Cafe Tizoc? We will have to try. I'm taking notes.......one locals bar that we frequent is called Barril and is on the corner of Juarez and Guerrero. Upstairs. I love Bebotero but did not know that we were paying ...

You might want to research the names of places that are within that price range, and then list them here. Then people can give you specific advice about which one. If you want to stay somewhere where you don't have to take a cab/bus everywhere, then staying in town is your best option. And if you ar...
