Re: Driving to PV, from Acapulco, from the US ?
I am familar with the drives from Cuid.Juarez to DF and Neuvo Laredo to DF, as well as DF to Acapulco, and 200 along the coast from Acapulco to Huatulco - so I am familar with checkpoints militar and aduana, radar, topes, etc. I also believe flying is cheaper and easier than driving, but sometimes ...

Re:PV or Acapulco?
I Acapulco is a major destination for Mexicans, specifically Mexicans from DF (Mexico City). They are referred to here, usually derisively by the locals, as Chilangos. But the Mexican Government promotes ACA for Mexicans, and places like PVR, Cancun, Huatulco, etc, for foreign tourists. So to some ...

mlroberts...I am sure the Poutine is just fine in Kelowna but not quite the same as the original...I am in Quebec City this week enjoying my fill of it ! Mole in PV is fine as well, but in Oaxaca City or even the Huatulco area (La Crucesita or Santa Cruz) it is incomparable ! But do try it when you...

Re: Go Flames go
T hose of us Flames fans here on vacation in Huatulco right now thought we had our evening all planned out. A bar here in Huatulco called the Tipsy Blowfish (great place) had fully intended to play the game for us Flames fans tonight, but unfortunately, they are unable to get a hockey feed. Dagnabi...

We went to Sayulita twice when we were there in Feb. First week went by bus and it was a great Mexican experience and one I would recommend. Second week we went by car with friends/staff of the GCP and are going again in March and can't wait!! Did anyone happen to watch Dateline last night? They we...

It is a very laid back surfing town. There are lots of little tiendas. Then go to the beach area and rent some chairs and umbrella and sit back and relax. We would go to one of the tiendas and purchase a 6 pack of beer, sit on the beach and purchase tamales, pastries, etc. from the beach vendors. T...

Sounds like fun! I've never surfed before but would like to learn someday. Are the waves scary for beginners like me? May I know what's the surfing lesson package like?

Re: Enjoy
San Pancho area further up the coast. The hills come right to the ocean and it's beautiful. Have time while in San Pancho, continue walking north on the beachfront road and take it up the hill (very steep) and imagine living in one of those beautiful houses. Have a great time. I have always time fo...

We took the bus from Bucerias to Sayulita in October. There is indeed only the one stop near the bridge. Sayulita is a pretty cool little town. It seems to lean toward the yuppie side, but we enjoyed our visit. We had lunch at El Capitan's (I know rhe word Capitan was in the name anyway), the food ...

Re: Marvelous Mexico
We almost had Isla Mujeres instead of PV this trip . A small island off Cancun - we were there 10 yrs ago and still think it was one of the prettiest places in Mexico we've ever seen. We'd like to return before it gets over developed. You highly recommended Isla Mujeres. This must be a beautiful pl...

Re:How long by bus?
Mexicana flys from Huatulco, Oaxaca and Acapulco. The bus take about 13 hours to get to Mexico city, so my guess is that you would be looking at a full day and will need to change buss lines. / Whew! That is a long trip. Is it a lot cheaper this way than taking a flight? Is it safe to take a bus to...

8022 is a lovely room w/ a view of the ocean and pool. We were there in 1997, when the hurricane hit Acapulco and traveled up to P.V. Are room shook, but we were very stable. The only damage we saw the next day, was water on the floor of the lobby, and one of the pools turned black. That's amazing!...
