We will be taking our 8 year old grandson to PV in June. He will really
enjoy this site before his trip. Thank you Sylvia

APOLOGIES
My apology to Smitty and Helenf. I either had sunlight in the eyes or
too much snow on the brain. Can't be my advancing age. Again my
apogolies to each.

ice storms
Ronald, you have my sympathy. Christmas Eve 2000 we had a massive
ice storm. My businesses were without power for five days. Filling
prescriptions by flashlight/candlelight is not fun. But we survived and so
will you. Years from now you will thinkback, smile, and brag how hard
times were.

Spring in Canada
Helenf-I am glad spring is arriving in Canada. Nothing brightens the landscape like flowering trees and yards filled with flowers. Here in Okla the fruit trees have leafed out and the only trees flowering are the ones causing intense allergies. The daffodils, quince, and liliacs are gone, but the cr...

Avoiding crime
This will be our 10th trip to Mexico and I am using your post as a wake-up call to our family. I know on past trips we have left ourselves open to problems. Luckily nothing happened. This year we will have a 1 y/o and an 8 y/o to distract us. Before leaving the room we will discuss ways to avoid mug...

Tequila
I realize price is important, but if I was bringing Tequila home I would do as Ozark American said. Last trip we lost a cheap pair of binoculars on the flight home. The wife saw the inspectors take them from the case and then replace them. When we opened our luggage at home the case was there, but n...

Sunshine311
We have a timeshare and enjoy it and use it. If you are going to spend
time in a presentation (90 min to 5 hours), pick a good property with
a proven record. Talk to other members of this board for recommendations. Don't expect to bring home everything the man in
the street promises

In the marina area Melia Puerto Vallarta is best. Across the street from
the Marina, short bus ride to Wal-Mart and all of PV. It is located on
the beach side. They have a link posted on this board.

Tequila Tour
A few years ago tour operators offered a one day bus trip to Tequila and a tour of Sauza distillery. The wife and I really enjoyed ourselves.
Besides the distillery we visited an experimental farm, lava fields, and
pre-Aztec ruins.
This tour may not still be offered.

I should leave replies to your problems to other members of this board. I have never stayed at the HI and have travelled to PV but a few times; but I hate for anyone to have a bad vacation experience. Please send HI management a detailed list of deficiencies. Lounger grabbers
Last year someone posted a story and pictures from a resort in England about this same problem. By seven am every chair around the pool and on the beach sported a towel. Enraged, one guest hurled most of them in the water. He was briefly detained by security but the resort declined to prosecute. I h...

DFW layover
For anyone else flying thru DFW--Marco is correct- the airport has automated trains between all of the terminals-very efficient and very fast-also the airport has ambassadors on duty usually. Two years ago we flew from OKC to DFW-changed planes to Mexico City. The ambassador was at a desk on the con...

Favorite times
I too enjoy the early mornings as I walk the length of Paseo del Marina. The construction workers are just arriving at the jobsites and the food vendors are doing a brisk business. The few gringos are on their morning walks or jogs. But my favorite time is late late evening. Looking from Club Regina...
