Try Trip Advisor. One poster returned 2 weeks ago, said renos are done, left a pretty glowing review in the reviews section for the hotel.

No Shoes, No Service
For those traveling U.S., is taking off your shoes to go through security an absolute requirement? Always has been for me, and near as I can tell it's standard at pretty much every airport in the US. I've traveled to the US, and from the US both back to Canada and on through into Mexico several tim...

All 3 I read were on Trip Advisor...2 in relation to the airport pickup, 1 in relation to the tour bookings. All reviewers had issues in the last 2 to 3 months, and it was posted by a local that Johann and Sandra had in fact sold their third party booking company (who for the time being was retainin...

Frankly, just use a porter and you'll get by the timeshare people without incident and get a taxi/taxi van. The gauntlet really isn't as horrid or scary as people make it out to be. They're annoying yes, but it isn't the nightmare it is portrayed to be either especially if you already know what you'...

I repeat, which is why IF someone is going to consider this procedure or any type of elective invasive surgical procedure in Mexico (or anywhere else for that matter, it's not limited to Mexico) they should go the best source for that information and not just take advice from strangers on a message ...

Surgery
Before you consider any surgical procedures in PV, I highly recommend you speak with Pamela Thompson at Health Care Resources Puerto Vallarta. Pam is an RN and used to work with Cornerstone Hospital before she started HCRPV - which is a company that specializes in the very information you are seekin...

I haven't been to Vista Grill but I have heard Jennybean recommend it so many times that we are definitely going to try it. You won't regret it, I promise. Muy romantico, and the warm fresh rolls stuffed with cheese are, on their own, worth the trip! They also have a very extensive wine sele...

Pub Crawls
Ellen is correct - some of the resorts and even some tour companies offer a bar crawl tour, but they're really not very good (I've done one) and for the price, you don't get much...as noted, 2 or maybe 3 clubs, a t-shirt and a couple of watered down drinks included, anything more than those drinks y...

More Info
Other than Acqua Day Spa on the south side the only other gym I'm aware of in PV is Gold's in the hotel zone. Re: Apaches...I guess I like it more earlier in the evening (closer to sunset), it's a bit quieter then, not quite so over the top. Later on though I tend to agree, it's quite the gong show....

The message appeares to be genuine because the fellow apparently knows the name of the local mayor. Well, it's actually pretty common to know that so I'm not sure that should be an indicator it's the truth. There are aspects to that post that are just...well...hinky. An awful lot of grey area and u...

Hmm
Did the "concerned poster" give a name? That should be your first indication whether it was someone who really was interested in warning people about something, or whether it's trolling BS. No name - trolling BS 9 times out of 10. Besides, what they describe isn't robbery...it's called "mordida" and...

Rest assured, Pam is legit. I've met her on several occasions...she is an angel to the PV community, they're very lucky to have her. When she was at Cornerstone she filled several functions, but the bulk of her work was directing the air ambulance evacuation services out of Vallarta. It was because ...

Corn
You can get it two ways on the Malecon - grilled and still on the cob, or in a cup. In the cup with all of the ingredients (butter, mayo, chile, lime, etc) it's referred to as "Elote" (eh-low-tay). It reminds me a little of peaches & cream corn grown in Taber, crisp and sweet. Goes down especially g...

Actually, Rhythms of the Night IS a romantic dinner cruise...it has some minor aspects of a sunset booze cruise on the way out to Las Caletas (where you disembark and eat) but on the way back it's soft music and romantic dancing on board. When you disembark at Las Caletas you are seated water side t...

Brekky
I too frequent Howard and Ted's breakfast haunts, as well as Fidencios on the beach (35 pesos for pancakes with bacon and sliced fruit, including a coffee), Dee's Coffee Company on Gomez for the breakfast bagel (about 30 pesos I think - ham, egg, fresh tomato on a toasted bagel) or smoothies. Cafe T...
