busy no more
I am all settled into the new condo, but it is not working out well with me living and working in Vallarta with my wife still at home in Tucson. We both miss each other so I will be heading home soon and my condo will be available for rent (see other section on this board). It just didn't turn out t...

Or possibly, quisiera un pase ..., because these passes aren't purchased, they are free. The one caviat is that purchases made on a day pass must be paid for in cash, no credit cards.

Re:busy, busy
Hi Elena,
I guess I missed something about the meet up on the 18th. When and where? And where is it posted? BTW, I go to CyCs often as it is just 2 blocks down from our condo on Fca Rodriguez. Good chance we will be there this evening and then dinner next door at Langostinos.

Driving to Puerto Vallarta
I left Tucson the day after Christmas about 6:30 AM. Got to and through the border with no waiting at all. Had not made any reservations, because I had heard horror stories of long waits at the border and I had no idea how much progress I would make the first day. I probably picked a great day to le...

pvdeb (Dec 16, 2004 10:56 p.m.): Congrats on the move. I know where your condo is and sure wish I could afford one of those. So is your wife going to move back down there with you? Best of luck on your new life. Thanks. Because prices are going crazy down there, we could only afford a studio rather...

Re:busy, busy
Hello and thanks MM. I've come back to Tucson for the holidays and can't believe how cold it is here in Tucson. Sorry, but you know everything is relative. Although I will be living in paradise and will be happy about it, it will not be vacation time. I will be working 6 days per week, but can't com...

Re:busy, busy
Well, I have a major update on this trip. We bought the condo expecting to use it off and on and rent it at other times, but that has all changed. I happened to be at the right place at the right time and was offered, and accepted, a job down here. I have been selling new homes back in Tucson for th...

Re:busy, busy
Tracy, I guess because we they were seeing an unusually high amount of expenditures and in a foreign country, they stopped all our cards including our ATM card. I do not know if they were collaborating on this or not. All I know is that it was a good thing that my wife went home early, as planned, a...

Re:busy, busy
Obviously I met up with Brenda and some friends at CyCs and had a few margaritas and really enjoyed myself. Have most of my shopping done and the larder is stocked with tequila, beer and a few other necessities. But have been so busy I have barely spent any time at the pool, none at the beach, and h...

I´ve been down here for 5 days, mainly getting stuff for the new condo. The banks blocked all our credit cards and our debit cards, so it was a good thing that Donna had to go back early and get things taken care of. Not many places accept credit cards for large purchases, such as furniture, so I am...

Arriving in PV tomorrow
We get keys to the new condo on Tuesday. My wife has to turn around and head back to work on Wednesday, but I will stay an extra couple of weeks to equip the condo. Is anyone else going to be down there at the same time? I am looking forward to enjoying the Festival of the Virgin of Guadalupe once a...

MM, I cannot imagine how tough that must be. Fortunately, we have dozens of good choices for Mexican food here in Tucson, so withdrawal is not much of a problem, although we are lacking the sea.

I have no idea what this is all about. I get and, hopefully, provide good information about PV here and am completely pleased with the service. I don't want to deal with politics on this site. Of course, I don't know what kind of posts are being deleted, but hey probably are not the ones I would wan...

Re:Spanish Phrase Book
Michael, Your are going with the right attitude. If you show some interest in speaking Spanish, and use it on the basics as suggested by Marcos, use common courtesy, and don't be afraid to make mistakes, then you will do fine. Unfortunately, many will still respond to you in English, so you have to ...

Hi Chinook, the reason you could only get into Nuevo and not the Marina is a matter of supply and demand. Nuevo is much larger and generally there is more demand for Marina.

Re:What do things cost in Puerto Vallarta???
Don't expect to find many bargains. Prices are like what you will find in many US cities. A six pack of Tecate @$5.00 for example. Cheap t-shirts easy to find. Buses and taxis cheap. Restaurants just like at home, from $ to $$$$. Weather that time of the year should be perfect. Have a great trip!

Hello Michael, I am assuming you don't know any Spanish, and apologize if I am wrong, and woud recommend that you stick to basics: gracias, muchas gracias = thank you, thank you very much buenos dias, buenas tardes, buenas noches = good morning, good afternoon, good night por favor = please That is ...
