How much do you want to spend? Do you want a private pool, or shared, i.e. condo complex. Are children in your group?
I would look on vrbo.com. There are all sorts of properties listed there. I like the Selva Romantica complex. pvrpv.com also lists some of these properties.

I am jealous of your plans......... I see lots of dogs in Puerto Vallarta. Many owners walk them along the Malecon or play fetch on the beach. People seem to accept dogs, esp clean, well behaved ones. Overall, the Mexican people seem more relaxed about dogs. The rules are looser. I don't think you h...

We frequently take a TAXI with four travelers, as opposed to a van. I guess it depends on how large the people are. We have one person sit in the front with the driver, and three of us in the back seat. It works out fine. The taxi rates from the airport are fixed. If you go to the taxi booths, which...

you can check on banamex.com and bancomer.com for daily bank rates. These rates are pretty close to what I got when I was down there in early December and used my ATM card at the ATM machines. I calculated the exchange rate when I got home and figured that I got about 12.75 pesos for one USD. Using ...

I will echo the comments by oneistwo. I have been to Playa del Carmen and loved it, however, I think you will find that PV is much more affordable overall. I would recommend staying in town somewhere and not doing AI. There are lots of condos and homes available vrbo.com and you have more room to sp...

A local was telling me to go to a taco stand "around the corner from Mandala and up 1-2 blocks" and this is only open at night. He said to get a "Volcano" there. I have had the volcano at Takos Panchos and they are really good. Anyway, this is near the Malecon, and would be good for those late night...

Getting dance partners can be hit and miss. If you don't speak any Spanish, it can be difficult. Sometimes the waiters ask people to dance, but just for one song usually. They have to get back to work! If men don't ask us to dance, my girlfriends and I will dance with each other, no problem. Sometim...

The meat spins on its axle, and there is a heat source behind it. It is a vertical rotisserie, basically. So it is cooking and staying hot, at least around the surface. They trim cooked, hot meat from the edge of the chunk, to serve to customers. Generally safe, but look for the stands that look cle...

You can probably find a contact through Bob Cohen of Banderas News, who writes most of the articles about local baseball for the newspaper there. You can see the news online banderasnews.com and Bob's email is bob@banderasnews.com

Le Bistro is nice, right on the river. The River Cafe is also on the river. Oscar's also on the river. You might want to review other restaurant threads on this forum. Trio is quite nice, but no river and no view. One of my favorite places, with a great view and affordable too, is Barcelona Tapas. O...
