Yes, I believe the Cuban club you are refering to is La Bodeguita del Medio on the Malecon they have a live band. That's a great place. I've always found someone there willing to work with me on my salsa moves. :D Another beautiful club you shouldn't miss is Mambo Cafe. That is out in Plaza Marina. ...

2 yrs. ago while staying at velas vallarta, we walked the beach north past the airport runway and eventually came to a series of palapa restaurants on beach. not only did we eat 'whole red snapper', but we were escorted to kitchen area to select our fish from a chest freezer, then watch as it was c...

I can tell you of 2 excellent street vendors that are my favorites, both in Old Town. There is a taco stand right across the street from Senor Frogs and right next to Farmacia Guadalajara there an excellent quesidilla stand. There are several stands along the street, I think mine is the 3rd one from...

And if you really want some good local food, there is an EXCELLENT taco stand across the street from Senior Frogs and an EXCELLENT quesadilla stand right in front of the Farmacia Guadalajara in old town. But there are several stands there I think it is about the 3rd one from the corner. Both of thes...

Hi Mogens!!! I was in Guadalajara 3 times, where have you been??? LOL The freezer section in the Mega is about 3 doors wide, the one in Lai is about 2, unlike the freezer sections in the states and Canada which take up about 3 aisles. Folks just don't buy the pre-made food in the freezer cases like ...

Wow Roger, remind me never to invite you for dinner to my gas station in the Mojave desert, as it apparently has no appeal and very inadequate kitchen storage. Roger, have you ever gone into Mega and noticed how large their freezer section is?? There isn't one. Actually there is but very tiny. There...

Ok, on the flipside of Jeff, there are Ruben and I who spend probably $300.00 per month on rent and utilities, we eat out a fair amount, late night taco stands, Brazil and the like. We go to cyber cafes when needed, don't own a tv, so don't have a cable bill, have ceiling fans, no AC. Just listen to...

Oh katnsocal, I had to laugh when I read your post!! As my boyfriend is an English teacher and I teach classes from time to time. Our 1 bedroom apartment is $250.00 per month. And to give you some idea the part time receptionist job was paying $75.00 per week. I'm curious to know as well if you two ...

Look in your own barrio. We try to keep our business within our own neighborhoods. Otherwise, figure out the questions you want to ask, find someone bi-lingual and ask then to tell you how to say the phrases in Spanish, practice, then go do it. This is how I do it. If you are going to be living in V...
