Cafe de Olla has a seafood platter for 2, between $50 - 60, that has lobster, prawns, fish fillet, and to-die-for twice baked potatoes. It probably has other stuff on it, but that is what I remember.
Have a great time!!

Thank you for the advice. I actually already have Mariscos Polo on my list; I have the address Fran Madero 376. We always eat at the other place too, on Iturbide y Miramar, as it is just down the street from the house where we are staying. They know us so well now, we go there and order the food, an...

something to think about
I am a 40 something woman who grew up in San Rafael, CA, and has relatives who live in St. Helena who are related to the Krug Winery (that arm of the Mondavi family), and I love wine, but I hardly ever drink wine when I am in PV. Neither do my California friends who also love wine. I think it has to...

The last time I was in PV, we ate once at Trio, and while we were eating there, a young American couple was meeting with the chef at the next table, planning the food for their wedding reception. So you might start there. (Trio has a website). Also, a very nice hotel and restaurant, Hacienda San Ang...

don't do all inclusive!!
Unless you are someone who can pay for all inclusive and then afford to eat wherever you please, I would much prefer to explore and try various places around PV. Check out chowhound.com for a thread regarding places to eat in PV. Very helpful. Also this forum gives great advice, but you may need to ...

should be able to find something
I have had lots of luck using www.vrbo.com; was just looking on there yesterday and saw some places that seemed reasonable. Also www.pvrpv.com if you call them they can help you.

mexican restaurants
Cafe de Olla is always at the top of my list for Mexican food. Check out chowhound.com for more recs. Watch for Gary Breck's advice. He has written books about eating in PV.

dreams
I think Dreams would be wonderful for a honeymoon. It is a beautiful place, luxurious, close to town if they want to go to town, great food and drinks, lots to do at the hotel. They could relax well there.

My kids are now 13 and 16, and we have been to Vallarta many times with them. Our favorite place is Paradise Village, in Nuevo Vallarta. We hung out on the beach everyday, under a palapa. You can body surf, and they have a hut where you can check out boogie boards for free. Bring your binoculars so ...

snorkeling
Many years ago, we drove to the shore near Los Arcos (south of PV), parked, and just swam out there. It was easy. I don't know if buses stop in that area, but that might be a cheap option. I have also snorkeled off the beach at Punta Mita.

Puerto Vallarta zip line tour
I second the advice to use Los Veranos. We had a great time, felt very safe. The guides are funny!! If you have kids, they will love the little "zoo" with small animals at the end. Also if you have kids, part of the enjoyment is the ride out there on a bus. There may be more than one bus. Ours was f...

current best places AFTER dinner for 40+ crowd
Please recommend the best places to go in downtown or old town after dinner for the 40+ crowd. I will be there on a "girls'" trip in early March. We saw the "nipple shots" at Mandala in October; pretty funny. Is Andale still good? The Zoo? The Cuban salsa place? Others?
Thank you!
Thank you!

4 night stay best restaurant advice
First time user of pv.net-- very intriguing. Have been to Vallarta many times over the past 25 years, and always stay in a house on the hill above Guadalupe church. In early March, will stay for only 4 nights, with 3 other married women in their 40's. I would like recommendations for restaurants for...
