More neighborhoods questions
Okay, it's getting closer to retirement date and buying a place to live. I saw a couple of nice Mexican-style houses in two neighborhoods. One was in Col. 5 de Deciembre near Cuetas restaurant, and the other is in Col. Buenos Aires. I've lived in the first area before, but it was around 7 years ago ...

Neighborhood near Costco
Just a question about areas. I saw a couple of places online available for purchase that looked pretty decent. They were supposed to be located near Costco in an area called Los Mangos, I believe. I don't really know that area very well. Any opinions on livability?

Thanks for the reply. All those factors seem to make sense as to the number of units available. I was also wondering if perhaps, since so many of them seem to be super-upgraded (almost ridiculously so in some cases, considering the building), I was wondering if flippers were involved. As I stated, I...

Thanks for the reply, but my original question was why there seemed to be so many units available for sale at the same time? I'm interested in purchasing in PV soon, and was asking wondering perhaps if anything unusual was happening to cause so many to be for sale at once. I enjoyed the units when I...

no replies?
So does the lack of replies to my question about Loma del Mar mean that no one on the board has any knowledge of real estate on the south side of town? Was it a dumb question, since the answer to my query is possibly related to the state of the economy in the U.S. and a general slowdown in the PV re...

Loma del Mar
Now that I'm getting closer to retirement and moving permanently to PV, I have a question about the condos. I stayed in them several times between 2001-2003, and I enjoyed being there. It's a good location, and owners can have pets. Hopefully this question won't step on anyone's toes, but I was wond...

No plans for a vacation as yet, but I am planning on retiring there in a year or two. I finally have my current other half convinced to come with me (or not :) ! He doesn't like Mexico, and he's Mexican! When vacationing, though, I usually stay at Vista del Sol, Loma del Mar, Casa Marielena, or any ...

This is along the lines of what sunshine 331 wrote. I'm going to have to plead ignorance about this GCP place. I always stay in Old Town. Where is the GCP located? What makes it better than, for example, renting a condo at Vista del Sol for a month in the summer? Next question: Why would you need to...

question about neighborhoods
I'm not familiar with some of the barrio names. Could someone tell me where Santa Maria and Los Mangos are? How are those areas? Thanks!

Just wondering
We all love Vallarta. Obviously. That's why we're on this forum. But let's say that you had to choose a second place to retire in Mexico, and, all things being even, where would you choose from the following places: La Paz, Mazatlan, Merida, Puerto Escondido?

Hope this reply doesn't open a new can of worms, but I feel, after reading through this thread, that I need to put in my two cents worth. This may come under the argument of AI vs. no AI, but here goes: The first time I visited Vallarta was 1993. The ONLY reason that I wound up there was because my ...

Went to the zoo a couple of years ago. You can take a cab up from Mismaloya beach or just walk. It's on the way to Chino's Paradise. I enjoyed it. The condition of most of the exhibits was pretty good for what you might expect in another country. I had a good time feeding the macaws and petting the ...
